I am very sad today as a Indian Supporter. I never thought before starting batting that India will lost the match. Anyway, its totally credits of NZ bowler's. They played well really. Now we need to wait for seeing another miracle in the second Semi-final.

What a match we had where Indian bowlers did amazing job and India's batting in start collapses and seems India will lose easily. But in the end India gave a superb performance and fought till last just as soon as Dhoni lost his wicket match came back to NZ

India played so well, they only lost 2, and incidentally the second one was what knocked them out.

NZ read the pitch well, and were strong in all aspects of the game.

I think a lot of credit goes to New Zealand as they played at their best at the right time of the tournament. Their bowlers bowled extremely well to put India under pressure from the start and even though India fought back it was too late as it left a lot of work for the middle to lower order to get the runs. Like I said in a previous post, it would be nice to see a new team win the World Cup and we could see this happen if England can beat Australia.

While drinking a hot cup of tea, I'm enjoying the page no. 15 to 17 of this thread. This is amazing; I saw Dhoni's today's failure coming in April and told Haunebu to just wait till the end of the World Cup.

My pre-World Cup comments for MS Dhoni:

I've got a feeling that Dhoni will be an epic failure for the Indian team if he's taken for the world cup. His experience can definitely help the team, but coming up in the middle-order, when the team requires a faster score, MS is no longer appropriate, especially on the difficult pitches.

You'll see what I'm talking about once the world cup begins.

First of all, I did mention in my post that I'm not following Dhoni in this year's IPL, so my analysis was based on Dhoni's recent performances in international ODIs, not on his performance with CSK. Moreover, it's a BIG MISTAKE that Indian cricket board and Pakistani cricket board are making, by selecting the team for the world cup (that is going to be played on a 50-over format) on the basis of players' performance in these 20-over format leagues (such as IPL and PSL). Moreover, in my post, I did admit that he has some very nice experience that can help the team, but the real problem that I think he's going to create during the world cup is by playing with poor strike rate. IMO, he'll look like an epic failure at that time.

At present, CSK has won every single game and lost only 1 game and they will be the first team to qualify once again this year. Think before trying to bad-mouth such a magnificent player.

I gotta admit that your analysis here is an epic failure buddy. Too many people like you underestimated MSD and got burnt for obvious reasons. Strike rate is obviously not everything.

The anti-Kohli lobby (Tendulkar, Manjrekar.etc) have come all guns blazing to defend Dhoni. My personal opinion is that he should concentrate more on Test matches and retire from T20s and ODIs. Just because he enjoys the support from the team management, he can't cling on for long. Good players such as Jadeja are being denied slots in the playing XI in order to make room for Dhoni.

Another brilliant match is about to begin in some time from now between the England and Oz . This would be a thriller to watch as both teams are in best form and England is playing at home ground which could be advantage for them and also a chance to play the finals  .

That's what we thought about Indian betting line up too but losing few early wicket changed the game credit goes to the Kiwi bowlers who bowled really well and also Kane was attacking the batsmen with his fielding strategy.

Aussies didn't really put much effort in today's game; they should've mentally prepared themselves better than this.

This will be unrealistic to think. It's a world cup semi final match after all.

You're correct there. India's batting line-up (except for the upper-order batsmen) wasn't exposed until the semi-finals, because India's openers and Virat Kohli remained fairly successful throughout. Let's see if we can see the repeat of drama today, with the English team losing early wickets.

I hope we don't get to see a one-sided match today with only Root, Buttler, and Stokes scoring all the required runs.

This match is turning to be a one sided match and what a brilliant start by the England batsman in this match . England now require 71 runs in 28 overs and 8 wickets remaining. If they do not goof up in batting they should easily make it to the finals against NZ. Starc who is the top wicket taker in the WC has being brutally smashed all round the ground.

India Vs NZ wasn't one sided at all. At one point, when Jadeja and Dhoni was in ground, India had the chance to win too. Today's match is one sided though. Australia lost early wickets which is why they didn't have the chance to add faster run to the score.

Yeah, even when India was 30 runs behind the total, and MS Dhoni & Ravindra Jadeja were on the crease, it felt like India will win it. However, the scenario completely changed after a few balls. This wasn't the case today; the total that Aussies gave to the English team was vividly less than a competitive total for a team that is loaded with world-class run machines.

Both are the least deserving teams to be playing the finals, to be honest. I kinda have a feeling the entire thing is match fixed and India & Australia were made to play bad on purpose. The top two teams can't just play very bad in the semi-finals. New Zealand really struggled to win solo matches, the most undeserving team. Really disappointed with the ICC and the fuckin improper Rain management.

England vs New Zealand playing in the finals is not what I wanted as an Australian cricket fan, but both teams changed their gears towards the end of the tournament and made it to the finals. While there’s no doubt England will start as the favourites, but I would not bet against New Zealand as it’s quiet possible for them to defeat England. The major factor here will be the toss whoever wins it will opt to bat, because if we see teams batting first have won many times in this tournament.

England deserves to win, as they are the second largest market for cricket after India. A win this time would do good for the popularity of cricket in England (currently it is not among the three most popular sports there). On the other hand, in case New Zealand wins, it will be nothing short of a miracle, considering the fact that the total population is only a bit more than 4 million.

Yes, both these two countries have not won the world cup yet, so it is going to be very good fighting between these two nations. I think when compared to Newzeland, England seems to be very strong in all sectors. We have to wait and see how far these two teams will perform in the world cup finals.
