Poporo forked at block 2051693 of Monero, 03/11/2020.
Although Poporo seems to be a common forking project, it is a novel solution. It abandoned the POW algorithm adopted by Monero and chose a new POP(proof-of-proof) algorithm for mining. And solve the problem of security and ASIC resistance.

A new project finally comes.
I saw the news from the following post. If you are interested in it, you can read it in a coffee time.

Here are some reading materials to help you learn more about Poporo:

Why a new coin need fork the Monero blockchain?

And you need a full bitcoin node, a wallet with bitcoin to make transactions in the bitcoin blokchain for minning...

The coin need the bitcoin ecosystem for work.

Too much dependencies, too much elaborate, and too much requisites for a new coin.

I see two posibilities, one monero holder wants to be richer or one random developer want your Monero/Bitcoin wallets.

And if this coin take same success. How you prevent an attack?, only need make a lot of Bitcoin transactions... and if in the future Bitcoin eliminate any fees... this coin will be dead.

But Bitcoin will not eliminate any fees.
By 2024, the annual inflation of Bitcoin will be below 1% per annum. This means Bitcoin miners will expect a significant part of their revenue stream to come from transaction fees. Poporo enables this to an extent.

Anyway the whole premise is that bitcoin keeps staying on the top.
