I would'nt take this for a counter argument either , when you see how fast today press is able to relay wrong information...

Only official statements on official websites ,everything else is just guys trying to fill up their news feed relaying unverified news.

Let's take the RT article from your spammy bunch

Quote
A Bitcoin spinoff known as Mazacoin has been adopted by a confederation of seven Native American tribes as their national currency. The Oglala Lakota Nation has expressed hope that it will draw the tribes out of poverty.

“I think crypto-currencies could be the new buffalo,” head of the Lakota Nation, Payu Harris, told Forbes. “Once, it was everything for our survival. We used it for food, for clothes, for everything. It was our economy. I think MazaCoin could serve the same purpose.”

Members of the tribe included Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse – famous for their role in the Battle of Little Bighorn, during which they were key in securing a victory over General George Armstrong Custer.

“We have to be forward-thinking,” Harris clarified.

The coin styles itself on its website as creating an “economic foundation upon which the Traditional Lakota Nation can build lasting wealth and prosperity for their people.”

“MazaCoin will take its place in the world of Crypto-Currency as a solid Alt Coin backed by the unique legacy of an ancient culture and nation,” it adds.

Mazzacoin is a branch or “fork” of a Bitcoin derivative called ‘ZetaCoin’. However, it remains one of an ever-growing market of alt-coins fighting to establish themselves.

“Just like debit cards, it will take a while for people to get it,” Harris astated. “But once people understood the new cards, they began to accept them. The same will happen with MazaCoin.”

He added that an educational campaign has already been launched demonstrate to the Lakota how to mine the currency.

In preparation, the nation has mined some 25 million MazaCois to be utilized as a national reserve of sorts. A further 25 million are on standby for a Tribal Trust – a collective which will issue grants to tribe members or support local businesses. A handful have already agreed to start using the coin.

The FBI has already allegedly contacted Harris to discuss the proposals to immerse themselves in the crypto-currency, apparently having reminded him that cryto-currencies are not considered legal tender in the US, currently. Harris has dismissed the warnings.

The red parts I've highlighted above are either lies told by Payu to the media, inaccuracies and red flags.

Let's take the Wall Street Journal article. After publication they realized they've been mislead by Payu and made corrections to the article:

Quote
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this post said mazacoin had been adopted as the Lakota currency. It has not been officially endorsed by the council.

Jesus, stop pushing this bullshit.

This is a re-hash of an old Verge article, as I have told you before and as it says in the first sentence.

You sound desperate now.

One thing is sure:
Throw an erroneous information about a subject that can create a buzz, you'll have to wait for weeks until news sites stop relaying wrong information.

I find it funny people believe that because something was reposted by a ton of news sites it must be true.
Did he not notice every article is just a rehash of the same information and quotes? It's all second-hand information.

It's obvious there is something not right going on. The idea of a large group of people just adopting cryptocurrency in their daily lives out of the blue is unbelievable. The logistics alone would be nearly impossible for these people.
Have you seen really old people try to use email? Yet you are going to have every child to senior citizen of this tribe get smart phones so that they can pay for things with cryptocurrency?

The whole story is ridiculous.

Saying the OP should shut up is pretty fucking lame. He's probably lost a lot of money due to this fraud. If he can warn others hes doing a good deed. Instead of burying your heads in the sand you should be using what little brain power you people have and asking questions and thinking critically.

Makes sense that if the dev is legit, he might want to crash the price for now. Then as adoption slowly picks up, the price would naturally rise rather than staying at it's speculative price and locking tribe members out from mining an appreciable portion of their own namesake coin because of the ridiculous network hashrate. I remember grants for individual tribe members to buy ASIC miners was a part of the plan from the start.

Don't know what's truth anymore with this coin. Don't really care, barely threw any money at it. I'll see where it's at in a few months. Smiley

Do we know anonpirate's mazacoin address? Maybe there's a way to see how much he mined to get an idea and then check whether he dumped those coins are not?

Good question. I also wonder what will happen with the pre-mine. If this pirate has control over it, since he also had control over the mining gear which was used to mine it and now he kinda` jumped ship, moving on to another "national coin" MapleCoin,.

These guys are too much

https://twitter.com/MapleCoin2014/status/443096992919851009

Quote
Because of the deep penetration of Crypto-Currency in Canada, the MapleCoin Development Team has chosen to have absolutely NO pre-mine and a "klondike style" public launch. Because MapleCoin is a scrypt based mining coin, this means the public launch can be fair and democratic allowing everyone to mine MapleCoin even on their home PCs at first. All CPU/GPU miners will be welcome. Pools and other user tools will be made available at launch.

So much for national currency.

I find it disturbing how few people can see that the 5% Mazacoin pre-mine is peanuts, when it comes to distributing it to the Lakotas. Actually less than 5% was going to actually be distributed.

Ok so Mazacoin devs just concluded a Q&A on IRC.

My take from the chat:

Mazacoin will never be adopted as any sovereign currency of any kind and thus coin price premium this Mazacoin has is totally undeserved.

The tribes will never adopt Mazacoin because they're getting plenty of government handouts and the 5% premine is way to small to incentivize  them. If some tribe were to get on-board, they would just start fresh with their own coin.  On top of that there's also gov pressure which won't allow it even if aforementioned conditions are met.

From this IRC chat it became very clear the two devs Boxxa and AnonPirate are at odds with each other so there is shitty development cohesion there, or lack thereof. Boxxa didn't agree with Pirate about launching Maple coin. He thought timing sucked.

Boxxa is the only dev working on Mazacoin and he's working part time. I think he lied when he said Pirate was still involved. His only incentive, or so he says, are the Mazacoins he bought while they were 100. We don't know why pirate decided to start Maplecoin, Boxxa dodged that question.

Some raised the question about Pirate starting MapleCoin as "pump and dump" as Boxxa called it and if it's wise to have someone like that in the team. Boxxa dodged the question.

Regarding Payu and Pirate relation, Boxxa didn't know exactly who contacted who to start Mazacoin. It would seem he's leaning towards Pirate being the head of it just as the leaked email mentioned.

Payu does not have a direct connection to Boxxa, they don't even speak on the phone and he can't get in touch with Payu easily. To me this sounds retarded on a project of this scale.

When asked about the sovereign national status of the currency, why is it advertised as such, Boxxa dodged the question, basically denying it was presented as such, though Payu clearly did so on camera.

All in all - a lot of hype and not much to show for except empty promises and a lot of BS.

Several times during the chat Boxxa tried to divert attention to "ongoing pump" since the Q&A started, but there was no significant price jump. He was obviously very concerned about the price and his own stake in the project, even though Mazacoin is all about long term steady growth, which is a pretty big disconnect.

mzc about to explode on cryptsy!!!

Some fools bought into Boxxa's crappy dodgy answers but it won't last long. Some are buying back after selling for a loss only to sell for a loss again very soon.

There's another manipulative organized pump going on with a 36btc order that comes and goes. Total artificial action.

Some pumper team organized this BS event with Boxxa most likely. Chances for this to be random are pretty slim. He probably gave someone heads up.

Trading on insider info should mean some kinda` punishment but I guess it's all fair game for Mazacoin.

Except, @bitcoinsachs hasn't actually released anything other than a couple quotes from this supposed "leaked e-mail", and the MazaCoin dev team just released their Android Wallet today. Tell you what, I just received a confidential e-mail from the MazaCoin dev team, and although I won't release the entire details of the e-mail, I will release a few quotes.

"We are actively working on MazaCoin, and will continue future development"
"Boxxa and AnonymousPirate are working together without any issues"
"Because someone posts on Twitter claiming they received a confidential e-mail from a developer, it must be true because I have an agenda against MazaCoin"

See how ridiculous this is? Actually, you probably won't, so what's the use anyways?

I know some of his long-time followers, and they are questioning the validity of this "leaked e-mail" specifically because @bitcoinsachs refuses to release it in entirety.
