They made that provision because they want players to shift to bc.poker which was dedicatedly made for poker. I have criticized this move in the past as well. A solid example would be Stake's poker client.

There could be many reasons for this, which only an employee of BC.Game could answer directly. For example, there could be legal aspects behind it (separate companies both operating under the BC.Game name, etc.) or it could be easier from a marketing perspective to treat the poker platform separately, for example, to give the whole thing a more professional image.

However, in my opinion, this is not strange at all and would not personally prevent me from playing there or creating an account with KYC ... if I played poker at all.

I think that many users still don't know how to verify a website if it's just a mirror of bcgame. But what it lacks about the bcpoker is they should also have that mirror link checker just like what's with bcgame.
