My personal opinion is that BTC is better in the long term, more solid.

ETH has been rising lately but it was collapsing so bad for months now that I still don't believe anymore in this project (I used to be very optimistic about it and bought when ETH was worth $800, how wrong I was!).

It is not "pumping", pump suggests that someone is deliberately increasing the price so they could sell at a higher price.

Ethereum prices are increasing because it has been undervalued for months now and even saw as low as 80 dollars at one point which is really undeserving for such a coin. Right now I feel like until 200 dollars ethereum prices will not be really showing their true value. It has too much utility and usage to actually drop this much so that's why I believe that we could potentially see another increase in price for ethereum.

The best part about all of this is bitcoin only recovered to 4200 at best, it was 6500 at one point and during that 6500 times ethereum was 200 dollars, right now if price of bitcoin goes back to 6500 dollars I think ethereum would be about 300 instead of 200 this time which is great for all ethereum holders.

Arroware, you say that you pay 0.07 BTC for 1 ETH, and today price is 0.033 so it will take some time to reach this price again. As you may have noticed, all altcoins follow BTC price in both directions and because of that without BTC pump there will not be any ETH price increase. The most clever move now is to hold ETH, selling would only mean that you lost more then half of investment.

I am saying that in case you are thinking (based on your question ETH or BTC) to sell ETH and invest in BTC. Since you invest in ETH stick to that for now, but for me BTC is only coin in which I trust, but that does not mean ETH is bad investment.

You can chose any coins you want because this is only correction, not the right direction. Many people see this is good opportunity to buy back but not me. I can say January 2019 is the right time to buy back or recovery asset. But this is pretty good because the changes happen well and Etherum can get out of the stagnant zone from the 90USD level. Yes it started pumping few days ago, and the price didn’t go very low like some analysts predicted. The current price now is $130 and I’m looking forward to more increase in the price before the year ends. Many coins has been doing pretty fine, even Bitcoin is trying, got up to $4000 plus last week but has dropped back to $3700 this week.

I'm not good at giving financial advise but If I'm in your shoes, I will still go with Bitcoin here or you can probably have both in your portfolio, 60% Bitcoin and 40% Ethereum. Ethereum is probably going higher because of the expected stake deal. As soon as the hard fork passes the people with more ethereums will gain more ethereums thanks to staking, all the fees and new coins will be going to their wallets instead of miners. This means the more eth you have the more you will stake kinda like interest you get from your savings account in the banks.

It means people started to grab as much eth as they can afford and this created a demand that supply couldn't cover so the price went up. I don't know how long this will continue but I assume this will continue at least until the hard fork. As soon as people start to stake they will either continue to buy more ethereum to make more profits or they will not be happy with the amount they are making and start to sell their coins.

ETH and BTC are both good for the long term. I do think that when the market recovery starts BTC will lead the way. However ETH price is increasing probably due to the forthcoming Constantinople upgrade.
If the question is to buy ETH or BTC, just look at the historic ETH chart vs BTC. ETH bounced up from the bottom support level quite recently, so it is still lower than normal vs BTC. The question is whether the Constantinople effect will tail off before the whole market bull returns.

The price of ETH v Bitcoin does indeed look very low at the moment. Best time to buy was probably when it was around half its current price. Not sure how much of the current rise is due to the upcoming ETH fork, and how much is just because it hit a low point anyway. Either way ETH is a solid long-term coin to hold.
