About forum video posting

Hello bitcointalks

Today I want to talk about the Bitcoin Talk Forum. I have seen many people talk about discussions on a number of topics. Some people use pictures to better understand the subject. But I have not seen any video post yet. Can not really post videos in the forums?

If the video could be posted then it would have been good for everyone because everyone could understand the related issue very well. Besides other companies could also post their promotional videos. This allows crypto companies to publish their advertisements very easily. And if the video is posted, it will be easy to attract the desired customer. I'm still not sure whether the video can be posted in the forum. Because I still did not see any video post. I know that the video can be post by sharing the link, but I’m just wondering that why we leave this foram for a while for only watch a video? If the video could be posted directy to the forum, then it would have been good for us. I hope everyone will give feedback.

This is just a forum. It is not an advertising platform. If the video can be posted, it may affect the speed of opening a post. The most important thing is that Alternate cryptocurrencies may be more hard to read because I guess every topic will have 2- 3 videos. Do you still think that the current Alternate cryptocurrencies part is not very confusing?

That's not necessary, even posting images we're a bit prohibited in this forum (in a particular rank) for some instances due to graphics-heavy that affects a particular thread to fully load, then now you will try to load some videos which are much heavier? Nah..

Posting video link is enough, you can use youtube or vimeo or any third parties in watching videos not here.

but unfortunately it cannot be play directly in the thread (I don't know if the ranking affects this limitation or only supports certain formats). It may have the same function when posting an image with video link inserted

You can post video like below :

You can watch once you click play symbol. But video isn't hosted on Bitcointalk hosting. It's still on YouTube hosting you have to use code as like below;

For that you need a image link and video link then you can post video.

I never support to host video on Bitcointalk hosting. Then forum will become more spammy and slower.

First you need to be a member rank or above to post an image in this forum or you can avail this feature by paying small amount for your copper membership.

Then you can post the thumbnail of the video with link then it can take you to the video location.

You can also use free software such as Irfanview to reduce the size of the image, or better still, just post the text link. The image is usually pretty useless imho. Many of us are fairly busy, and we may want to visit the forum using a mobile phone. If too many people post large images, and quote blocks, then we may be forced to stop visiting the forum if we are not using a computer.

Most links to videos being posted here only take us to some guy either giving trading advice or just speculations that no one should be taking seriously,which is unnecessary in itself,so there is absolutely no need for the video to be directly posted on the forum,it will only clog discussions and make things even more boring than it already is

You could play the video on your device,and come give us a concise detailed summary to Forster discussions,sounds much more better for me

Not only because of that. In addition, using pictures or gifs are now abused because some members here used it for trolling which is annoying (but funny sometimes) or just used it as a gateway for the sake of posting even the content is not substantial at all. What more if those shitposters are now allowed to post videos? For sure that worse things could happen.
@OP ~ I know that your intentions are nice but the consequences of your suggestion, if will be implemented, is quite disastrous.

I don't think its needed as linking an external video via text or image is enough and won't be a demanding task for interested parties. Plus the way I see it is you just intend having video playback capabilities in the forum for advertisement purposes only so the problem I will see here is we will be flooded by a new kind of ad campaign here in the forum which will definitely lead to a lot of mess as people would definitely want to earn money out from it.

As far as I know, jr member can also post an image, can't they? I didn't get this news anywhere or I have missed latest news.

This is a good solution. If you want to make a good post, you need to put some effort in it. Choose an image from YouTube with the link to the video, cool

Bitcointalk doesn't even host images, so it will probably never host videos.
