Cheetahcoin (CHTA) is fork of Nengcoin on SHA256.  Cheetahcoin is first and only SH256 coin that can be mined with computer or android phones.  Currently chta beta branch support CPU mining on Cheetahcoin while the master branch continue to support Nengcoin CPU mining.

Early Indication of Android Phone Mining on CHTA

Here is my comment in discord on android phone mining performance on CHTA

Quote
honglu69Today at 1:03 AM
My 4 core android phone on test version (not released yet public)  CPU mining, another 5 blocks mined in 22 hours.
3 cpu linux only get about 2 blocks in 14 hours  mining
v1.6.x release CHTA will be great for mobile mining on android phones.
Cheetahcoin will be the world first and only SHA256 coin that can be mined profitably in android phones.
I do not think my GPU Nvidia GTX 1050 card can mine a single block in a day on CHTA now.  GPU is no match against android phones on CHTA in normal days.

Nengcoin (formerly NewEnglandcoin)  is a scrypt coin minable in android phones, chromebooks, PC/MacOS along with GPUs and ASICs.   It has randomSpike ago on top of scrypt to restrict ASIC.  ASIC vs CPU mining profit split is about 80%/20% in average although real time mix is dynamic from 100% ASIC to 100% CPU from time to time.

Nengcoin (NENG) CPU mining use special software "Cheetah_Cpuminer".  The latest version is v1.3.0
https://github.com/ShorelineCrypto/cheetah_cpuminer/releases

README Document:
https://github.com/ShorelineCrypto/cheetah_cpuminer

What is Cheetah_Cpuminer?
Nengcoin (NENG) blockchain has dynamic difficulty adjustment algorithm which may trigger ASIC miners to get stuck on NENG blockchain finding no blocks from several minutes to several hours.

Cheetah_cpuminer will automatically start mining at local PC when ASIC miners get stuck. Cheeta_cpuminer will stop mining when ASIC miners are smoothly generating blocks

v1.3.0 is tested under android phones, chromebooks,   Windows 10,  macOS from  El Capitan to Catalina and Linux on 9 distros (Ubuntu/Linux Mint, Debian/MX Linux, Arch/Manjaro, Fedora, openSUSE, Solus)

Update: latest supported coin include Cheetahcoin (CHTA).  A randomSpike Nengcoin fork on SHA256. CHTA is supported on chta beta branch in github.
The android mining part is what makes me feel worse about this miner, are you trying to tell us that this miner can work on an android phone using it's CPU without burning the phone up or shorting it's life span? Can you tell me more about this?

Android Dual Mining NENG/CHTA 2 Day Report
Mined 48 hours dual mining both Nengcoin (NENG) and Cheetahcoin (CHTA) in the same phone.4 core old android phone. 8 cpu threads under Userland app linux.
Results:
Nengcoin: 130,000 NENG or 13 blocks in two days
Cheetahcoin: 190,000 CHTA or 19 blocks in two days

Again, android phone mining performance on CHTA is better than NENG.

The android mining part is what makes me feel worse about this miner, are you trying to tell us that this miner can work on an android phone using it's CPU without burning the phone up or shorting it's life span? Can you tell me more about this?

It will not.  This miner is very unique, very different from other miners.

The more story telling here is that the two coins it support are unique,  one of kind, crypto innovation.  Nengcoin is scrypt coin,  Cheetahcoin is SHA256.  In both coins,  ASIC rigs (scrypt or SHA256) gets 80% to 90% of rewards,  CPU miners (in computer or android phones) with this miner get 10% to 20% of total rewards.  GPU is not competitive, can not compete with ASIC, can not compete with CPU either.

So you see, this is not same as typical CPU miners.  Not a typical coins either. In fact, for most of the time,  this miner does nothing, just observe the NENG or CHTA block chain movement.  It runs like a hunting Cheetah in Africa Safari. It hides from Lions, does nothing, no actions.  It jumps into mining when ASICs are stuck, not able to mine.  In other word, this miner mainly profit from failure or short fall of ASIC miners.  I skip the details here, you can check out both coins of their Ann page for details.

The profit gets doubled if the same phone mining both coins simultaneously at same time.  In terms of CPU usage,  this miner uses much less CPU resource compared to Monero. I tried and I do not believe an old android phone can mine Monero with decent rewards. This is different, actually 4 core android phone mining both coins in dual mining mode can get more rewards than a dual core old PC.

I mine on my phone daily, not getting any over-heat issue so far. Of course, when I use my android phone, I do not mine, save the battery. Mine only when your phone is idle. You are not supposed to mine on your phone when you use it for daily routine.
