Yes, Probably, Vitalik Buterin possible solve the problem for the transaction fee and transaction fee, this will be helpful for smart contracts because alot of people use them and sometimes the net is congested, the transaction fee rises, it look like ethereum will still be the top smart contract coin, competitors need to catch up.

There was a fall of 2 days in the market. Bitcoin value fell 500 USD again and now it is going back up again.
EThereum is moving upward in strong position as it goes not just on USD value but if you will look its BTC value also gain alot.
We just need to wait, before the year ends it will gain the hundred fifty value.

I think the hope of ethereum to return to number 2 is very large but whether the price will go up or the price will be like in 2017 where it reached almost 1000 dollars but
if I'm honest, I don't really blame you for being rated how much I expect ethereum to come back like and not as bad as it is now. even with the current price I lost almost 50% so hopefully in 2019 the altcoin and ethereum will return to value as well as in 2017 hopefully

What matters is what it could provide to fulfill its usage.

Most of the people here just looks at the price and not the value of each currency.
The value is being defined by how much it is being used or how good it is for the people on why they should keep it.
Too much have sold their ETH and it is not a good thing.

Today ETH never dropped below $100, it is actually up today and the price is moving above $135, ETH never touched below $100 for the last 1 week after it touched $82 and rose up $150+ it never went below $100. seeing the current movement in 2019 first quarter we can expect  the price moving above $200 to $300 range.
