We have developed a new web app:

http://stampd.io

It allows the blockchain time stamping of electronic documents containing any kind of digital content:

 - No account creation or login required

 - A pdf certificate is issued and emailed to the user after the stamping has two confirmations on the blockchain. The certificate contains all the appropriate technical details which explain the methodology of the user's particular stamping. This allows the user to prove the stamping at any time in the future without referring to any centralized service (including ours). See template here:

http://stampd.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/stampd_PDF_Receipt_Sample.pdf

 - We have allowed for a tiny cost per stamping to ensure both (a) avoidance of bloating on the blockchain and (b) coverage of our server expenses & miner fees.

We would appreciate any comments/impressions!

One advice - remove the big animated hands!

It's very annoying when you are trying to focus on finding the file to upload and your whole screen is animated.

One frame of those hands is enough and will save you and your users traffic too. And will load faster.

EDIT:
And 1 euro per stamp, seriously?

Hi there

Many thanks for your remarks.

We have also been wondering whether the background video may be destracting...

We put a lot of thought about the price. We are against having it for free as this could lead to countless bloating blockchain transactions. What would you consider a fair low price per stamping? We chose this to start with because this seems in the same order as what other similar services have chosen. We would appreciate your view on this!

I am also against blockchain bloat, but how long do you think it will take for somebody to make a similar service and charge half or even less? Or maybe even provide it for free.

This service is very simple, so charging one euro per single hash is not only rather expensive, but also not competitive.

Indeed there could be many others charging less and eventually competition could bring this to as low as "for free". But if that is the case then blockchain bloating with endless OP_RETURN posts would seem unavoidable. Perhaps in that case the pertinent miner fees will increase and thus "for free" will eventually become out of the question. I am not trying to justify our selection of the price per stamping (we are considering to decrease it), but more of trying to point out that it is not really clear how this whole story will evolve.

Hi team,

I find this project very interesting. Are you guys going to somehow monetize this project or are planning to attract more funding for future development?

Best regards,
Janis

Hello Creegz, this has been our pet-project for a few years now. We'd love to see it widely used hence we have recently updated it. It remains self-funded by the personal time that we invest in it. Thank you very much for your kind words.
