We all saw that coming yesterday. it was obvious that ethereum will pass XRP after a huge market surge last year late december on XRP. As of November 25 last year, XRP was capped at $13,998,356,446 and eth was $11,158,159,719. it clearly shows that ripple has gone ahead of  ethereum. the sudden change looks like its related to the ethereum hard fork schedule in this january. lets hope it maintains its support.

I second this, ETH deserved the 2nd place. I think it is just a temporary slide off from 2nd position due to the fuds going on. Lucky, it didn’t take too long for ETH to return to number 2.

XRP is obviously one of the best coin, but due to its high volume, it will not remain competitive against ETH.

I've look the market price early this morning and it still in the 3rd place but it actually change right now.
It is pretty obvious that people whave still giving trust even this coin is a cause of many ICOs fails. The continuous uprising trend of Eth will help for market recovery and bring back into $500, hopefully.

The battle between ethereum and ripple continue and I, think ripple will try every chance to raise their position to get back to the 2nd place. But I don't think that ethereum will easily to give up with the ripple and I am sure that ethereum will defend their position. It will continue for this week, and I wonder who will be the second place in coinmarketcap. But I have a strong feeling that ethereum can defense the 2nd place this year.

This is nothing to be surprising but I am amazed that ethereum did not take too long to take out the crown to ripple that long. This could be because of the incoming hardfork where most of us wanted a free altcoin which will be above $10 each coin for sure. This might be a bad news for ripple and only a proof that ethereum will always be the king of all altcoins.

Since when "ETH normal price is 0.1 BTC/ETH"? Is it ETH price when it was on ICO (Did ETH even had ICO?). ETH was reached 0.1+ only in 2018 back then (May or March IIRC).

Many  ICOs fail aren't because ETH's fault. That's because those aren't legit ICOs and scam their investors money.

I don't know of I'm just being too hard on Ripple though but, I don't have any trust whatsoever in it and I think it's heading for doom. Ethereum beyond reasonable doubt has had year that was absolutely below par but, I'm sure it is already picking up again slowly and would eventually surpass Ripple once again in the market capitalization.
