Someone with influence over bitcoin followers can go up and say "I am not really sure but I assume it might be going up" or say "Price is definitely going up, no way its not", and one would create some hype but with a care and create just "hope" while the other one is aggressive and would create this urgency in people to buy right away before it goes up. You are right, a prediction may work and may not. We cannot do anything about that. For example, you follow some expert and he is giving some predictions and in market it is happening then are you going to reward him ? I am sure that is not a practice at all. Something will apply when their predictions fail. We cannot blame them. Because, we only need to take care of our hard earned money. We should not blindly believe someone else for making important financial decisions.

I'm glad that you really learn one of the most valuable lesson in crypto. For majority, specially newbies, they really thought that the price would go on parabolic rise, but it's not always the case and will not happen. The market works on a cycle, just like a weather so there's no exact science for predicting the price specially that everything is based on pure speculation and crypto is also a volatile asset as well. Predictions are not always right, moreover the person who makes the prediction is new and doesn't know much about it, which are most likely is wrong. even weather experts' estimates can also be wrong, I think you should be able to get used to crypto fluctuations because like weather estimates with the help of tools and algorithms, the result can be wrong.

yes, you can't even predict a near future. the future is something very difficult to predict and we should not try our luck. We should look at the value and strategy of altcoins to evaluate whether it will pump in the future. Compared to other assets, the trading of digital currencies seems to be a little more failure to comply with the law.
