Why i am banned?

A few days ago I received a scary message, my account was banned and I do not know why.

The following account is affected: -Newera-

I have received the following message: Sorry -Newera-, you are banned from posting or sending personal messages on this forum.
You have been a moderator, probably because of spam or plagiarism. You may appeal here, but your chances are not good: banappeals...@theymos.e4ward.com

Unfortunately, I can not understand these two points, I have neither practiced plagiarism nor spread spam. I was even anxious to contain the spam in the Bitcointalk forum. As you can see here an example of my work: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4415262.msg48808220#msg48808220

Because of that, I want to appeal here, because I'm afraid this is a mistake. The account is very important to me and I would be very pleased if I could get this back.

I think we should stop responding in threads like this from here on out. Users know damn well what they did in most cases and will not admit it even when the evidence is posted. Just move on to the next set of excuses is their MO.

You're right, in most cases they do know exactly what they did and are just lying.  But sometimes mistakes do get made and people are wrongfully banned.  That's not the norm, but it does happen.

This is why I suggested including in the ban PM one example of the plagiarism offense, which would obviate their need to start threads like this and having members dig up an example for them.  That wouldn't stop the pleas-for-mercy threads, but it sure would help reduce ones like OP started here. 

It just wastes people's time having to prove to the plagiarist what they already know to be true, and then after an example is shown, inevitably the next thing they do is try to make excuses or beg for a second chance.  You'll see.  If OP returns to this thread, that's exactly what he's going to do.

public appeal is there for several reasons .. one of which I have already mentioned  but there are several others.

Global mod 'hilarious' answered in the topic "Why we do not give reasons?" that it would be a very time-consuming process for staff.

Ban reasons are given but usually just for a temp ban. There's one button to 'IP and permaban' someone and it's much easier to click that than manually give all these idiots permabans the long way with a customisable reason and when you've got to ban 20 people at once it would become incredibly time consuming and tedious to do so. Theymos should probably change the permaban message to something like You have been permabanned. Some common reasons include spreading malware and plagiarising content, but please see the full rules here (or something like that). That way people can work out what they were banned for. I've also previously requested new buttons for certain bans. For example: So there's one button that when you click it gives a user a seven day ban for unsubstantial posts, and another that permabans them and gives them the reason as copy and pasting and so on. This would be much more efficient for everyone.

I've also requested that users who are permabanned that information is publicly displayed under their username or something, but not sure whether we should include what exactly for in that. It seems like theymos is likely even against showing which users are banned publicly (not sure why, especially when people are reporting dozens of users a day that are already permabanned and it's time-wasting for both users and staff to have to report and handle these).

I think that the moderators could indicate individually the reason of the perma ban for Full Members and above at least.

I haven't seen anyone receiving a second chance after blatant copy and pasting. The only ones I have seen re-instated is where a mistake was made in imposing a ban or they were the initial author of the copied text or they were specifically authorised (i.e. community manager) to replicate the text.

It will be possible but one of the moderator has said that it will take some time to ban user indicating the reason of the ban. This is why the unofficial list of rules and regulations which is posted in the sticky threads has allowed a user to appeal on meta section. This will give them the chance to identify the reason for the ban as other users were attentive in responding ban appeals in this section.

On top of this you say they worked hard to "earn" their merit? If they were being deceitful about their posting habits, do you think that some of them didn't buy their merit?

The merit system makes this forum better honestly. Now users have to put real effort into their thoughts that they post in order to get the merit rewards from other users. Yes, the days of easy money are gone for the bounty hunters who came here to earn a living. We are not against these users at all. If they want to earn some money that's perfectly fine, but do it without posting a load of trash all over the forum. Do it without buying merits, accounts, copying others work, or being dishonest.

Basically its a sink or swim system. You're not gonna hop on here and just magically be a Hero member in the next 1.5 years without putting in the effort. If you do put in the work and rank up honestly as well as earn your merit honestly, you gain a sense of pride on this forum. You might also start gaining some respect from what most of you consider your seniors of the forum.

Not having read the rules is a very shallow excuse by the way. Plagiarism is frowned upon in every area: school, work etc.
Copying works of others is a universal issue, and it is worse if the motive behind it is for personal gain (financial or acknowledgement)

For clarity a welcome message could be added for new members and this could include the rules and guidelines and a few other vital posts.

Besides, there are also many forum members who just copy and paste content just to expect to get merit, this is really crazy. they want to be respected but not based on the work they make but on the plagiarism of the work of others. and this really needs to be eradicated from this forum so that this forum will develop.

it's actually simple to be a good member and at least support the development of this forum. by obeying the existing rules and not breaking them, we will be safe and not banned.
