I suck at graphics, but hopefully this will serve as some inspiration for someone more graphically capable than me.

How about lots of little e's orbiting the big #B ....

EDIT: little shiny, silver E's (quicksilver mercury like) orbiting big, gold blazing B# .... electrum alloy

lol i love how you're all collaborating to design Electrum a better logo. we should definitely use a logo made by the community. if tuxavant or anyone else wants to organise that, that would be awesome. the concept or history behind it would be very cool and fitting for Electrum.

I'm not sure if those thin orbit lines are good for small scale logos or icon.

How about continuing the 'atomic orbit' theme by using electron orbitals and combining it with an infinity icon (to denote Big Number Crypto). e.g. combine:

Infinity symbol:

Electron orbitals:

There are some nice ray traced 2p orbitals here:

Here is the 2px orbital:

As electrum is an alloy of silver and gold perhaps the blue should be changed to metallic silver.

The picture shown is not the infinity-like p-orbital I was imagining .... unless your balls have been stretched into a pointy-ended dumb-bell shape ... or?

I tend to agree with the observation that electron cloud orbitals are not popular enough to be interpreted correctly by a large audience...

Looks good, but it might be difficult to iconify.  I suggest replacing the round bitcoin mini-pictures by fat colored U+0243 symbols.

It's here:
https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum-server

I agree it could be made easier to find.
Perhaps add a direct link to it on the website?

That would be great. Throw it up at the bottom of the download page.
