Welcome jonoiv and good job LFC. How did anyone miss a guy like this who's been around since 2013?

BTW, anyone else noticed anonymint's wee imps making their rounds in Bitcoin discussions? I almost forgot about that guy but seems one or two other semi active accounts have been trying to get some love for his Steemit writings (deliciously anti Bitcoin of course). To be fair, he does have some semblance of rational logic. SOME.

This bear season is interesting. We are seeing all kinds of bears coming out from the caves.

Could make a catalog already, for the future bear zoo.

We have the standard market bear, who make charts always pointing down, while pretending they are impartial and with a bullish vision for long term. Some of these make long predictions where bitcoin will take a century to recover, thus giving us the subspecies called "permabear".

We have the idealistic bears, who think adoption by the nocoiner haters is more important than fathers or mothers losing their money and commiting suicide. Every time I see they talking I remember the mother who hanged herself over losing all her husband money because of "adoption".

We have the religious bears, who think bitcoin was created by a evil jewish conspiracy and will put humanity in shackles (even with most people being nocoiner haters who will never adopt it), and write walltexts full of mathematical theory to mislead the reader.

We have the statist bears, who believe bitcoin is a ponzi scheme, and will be prohibited by the State, like politicians, lawyers and cops never bought and hold it. Statist bears have the lowest IQ, and always delay their trades, selling with only 1% profit.

We have the museum bears, who always point out the rise of bitcoin from 2011 to 2017, like everybody was an early adopter and nobody had bought at recent prices. They post that bitcoin have risen 827283728% all this time, thus implying you will have to wait twenty years for some action.

Then we have the despaired bulls, who expected bitcoin to rise 200% in just two months, make threads talking about hope and belief, always with questions about long term, then sell everything, becoming by then, the mutant bear species. They can turn into any category above, but most of the time, they become statist bears, expecting the State will bring "regulation" so that they dont lose money again.

Definitely a rich catalog.

Grin

You have forgotten two bear species:

The altcoin bear. He is convinced that some shitcoin he recently bought will DESTROY BITCOIN!!! and that Bitcoin's recent slight decline is a symptom of a change in leadership.

The ego-maniac ("I made everything perfectly") bear. He will tell you during weeks how much profit he made in the intermediate bull run, and that he has sold exactly at the top. And that now every single trader that invests even 1$ in Bitcoin will lose and that Bitcoin will go to zero. When Bitcoin has confirmed a new bottom, then he will re-appear - now as a ego-maniac bull ("I bought at the bottom!").

sorry, could not resist Wink

- Lack of IQ.
- Lack of education (stop studying garbage majors).
- Confirmation bias.
- Cognitive bias.

The above 4 explains 99.X% altcoin supporters as almost all of them are, objectively/technically/empirically, utter and complete shit.

Include altcoin-hopium. He or she is convinced that the altcoin he/she HODLs is "the one" that would give him/her returns so high, and a life-time of money. For that to become a reality, Bitcoin must die.

Ironically, if the only proven, and secure cryptocurrency dies, i.e. Bitcoin, then so will their shitcoins.

The altcoin bear can be catalogued as a subspecies of the idealistic bear.
He believes bitcoin adoption have failed, because its price is increasing, so a altcoin must replace it.

He fails to understand that value comes first, and adoption is a consequence of it. People dont buy bitcoin to use as a currency, they buy it to protect themselves, from inflation, unemployment, health issues, etc. The value increases and then comes adoption by more people.

You will not have adoption by average people if the price is constantly falling. The only adoption you will have will be by Wall Street sharks, who need to buy it cheap and tame it, turning it into a copycat of the stock market, which is the opposite of what the idealistic bear is aiming.

The idealistic bear is a misguided individual, who believes money is not important, and ideology will feed children. His rethoric reminds me of rich socialists, who tells the middle classes to share their goods with the poor, while they wont do it themselves.

Money is important. Only the rich and powerful will tell you otherwise, and they brainwash people to stay poor their entire lives. Today the idea of making money with little or no effort is seem as wrong, but this is how the powerful make money. You cant win them with ideology, you should play in the same field.

The brainwashing is so strong that I actually dont believe the masses will adopt bitcoin, and maybe only 10-15% of the population will hold it. Bitcoin will be the equivalent of gold for the digital age, and will be used as a currency only to buy expensive things, like a house or a car.

I don't understand completely what you mean with the relation between adoption and an increased price (are you referring to the high transaction fees, maybe?). However, in general, you're right that a part of the altcoin bears may fall in the "idealistic" category.

But most altcoin bears (more than 70%, I think), in my opinion, are just shills trying to manipulate the public opinion to benefit from a "pump and dump", trying to lure them to buy into some shitcoin. They're bears only for "competing" coins, but can turn rapidly into bears of the altcoin they just promoted when they achieved their goals selling the coin in question (and maybe even have entered a short position). I don't think this is a very "idealistic" position Wink
