It will be a viable  mining choice if Eth doesn't move to Pow which many think it will go to it soon. The power efficiency is a big factor especially at these times where price of 1 Bitcoin is 3500-3800 dollars. I think many miners will see this as a good mining card even if Eth moves to Pow, there are great other algorithms which Nvidia cards do mine well.

Not sure how 350 USD at 160watt TDP is a good deal.
Nvidia is clearly charging you for the Ray tracing on this card which of course isnt needed when mining.

With 350 USD I would rather buy 2 x 1060's (save 30$) and get 48 Mh/s at 220w or settle for 1 x 1070 for 220 USD (save $130) and keep the 31 Mh/s at 120w. And the Polaris cards are even better at this therefore there is no point in buying this card.
Not sure how it performs in X16r but im sure its not that different that it'll warrant buying this over the Pascals.

For gamers its a great deal especially if you have 1080p and want to experience RT - not bad at 1440p either as it will net you 40 fps.

I think this card is better at progpow then a 1070 plus it will retain its value longer then a 1000 series card.

But this situation is very similar to early 2015 year. Maybe soon we will see something like Ethereum four years ago. Anyway the mining is risk. But we should stay tuned with the latest hardware performance  Wink

Absolutley not. Now we have many gpus server farm stopped.. ready to startup again if something will move. So.. we need eth at 2000/3000 usd maybe more for the same gain of 2017

Ethereum will go to PoS faster than will become profitable again for GPU mining. I mean new coins with innovative features and new hashing PoW algorithms

I think it would be a good time to revise this thread, since we've got quite a few miners working now with Turing generation cards.

We need to share a few achievable hashrates/settings... I'll start:

ASUS RTX 2060 DUAL OC Edition

x16rt (Veil): 24 MH/s avg (75% PL, +100/-500) - using Trex
C29 (Grin): 5.8 G/s avg (85% PL, +110/+700) - using Bminer
ETH+VBK: 30.85 MH/s + 185 MH/s avg (75% PL, +100/+800) - using Bminer
CN-Haven (XHV): 800 h/s avg (75% PL, +100/+900) - using CryptoDredge
CN-Turtle (TRTL): 5650 h/s avg (75% PL, +100/+700) - using CryptoDredge

I am hearing this since late 2018 but I am not seeing any concrete move from Ethereum developers to go to PoS.Keep mining it right now as it is profitable. It is making 100 dollars or a bit more monthly with 55 dollars energy consumption with energy price of 0.07 kilowatt.

Same here I also heard that news about ETH but I don't see any news if they will switch it to POS but as other said they won't switch it to POS because it may affect the Ethereum price.

With rtx 2060 much better to mine other coins than mining ETH it won't make you higher profit.

You may watch a lot of tweets about casper POS that already made by vitalik itself and this will give you a lot of clue about where is it right now.

I read on the whitepaper and that said hybrid system will become another choice that keeps 0.5 eth as block reward for miners.

Looks RTX2060 practically equal Pascal 1070. Like in previous generation Maxwell GTX970 = Pascal GTX1060 in hashrate. But older gen is worst power efficiency.
So as soon as price of RTX will decrease it will become interesting for building mining rig

2060 is on average ~ 40% more powerful than 1060, and on average ~ 10% more powerful than 1070

BUT payback is about the same. In this case, it is better to purchase 2060 video cards, since they will be slightly easier to resell in the future and since they have a slightly higher hash rate.
