Probably some malware embedded already on your machine for downloading suspicious files on the web. Best thing to do is fresh install your OS and avoid downloading anything from the web from unreliable sources/repositories. This usually happens when a software is messing on your clipboard and replacing it with a different address for the unknowing users to send it directly to that address. Since your clipboard is within your local computer, no matter what website you're copying and address from, it will produce the same result.

Yep he's right, your PC is infected by a malware and you probably got it somewhere from downloading unwanted files. This is already circulating few years ago and you need to clean up your PC and scan it using your anti-virus (if you ever had).

Good thing that you noticed that because before, there were victims that doesn't check the address that they copy before sending. And sadly they sent some of their mbtc's to the wrong address.

SuperInvestor, you've already got the answers what you need to do, but to remove that malware or any other bad software from your device I advice that you use only best software. For example you can download free version of Malwarebytes for scan your device, and use premium version for 30 day trial.

Some malware is very difficult to remove, so in some cases it is better to make scan in safe mode.

There are really some malwares which is really hard to remove even how premium antivirus you do have that's why I decided to reformat
or completely re-install a fresh OS so that It would completely remove all of my doubts.

That's probably the best option. I just wanna add that malwarebytes is a great software even without premium. Op can still keep it and either use it as a default AV (real time protection is only for premium users) or just for manual scanning (free users). AdwCleaner which is a free and light product made by them is also a must have.

oh and be sure to have only one AV which real time protection is enabled.

To OP, next time, don't just click and click and click. The best security is not in the AV or something but within our own hands. I haven't running any AntiVirus since my inception here in crypto world as it's just an optional for me (of course Im not recommending you to do the same if you preferred to have Anti-Virus). As an internet guy, you should know the things you are dealing with.

Anyways some of the possible reasons why you got infected already mentioned at previous replies. If that is the case, don't clean your machine with an AV or Malwarebytes but instead do a fresh OS reinstall.

It might sound hassle as you will download again your installed apps but don't rely on third party apps even how powerful it is to clean your system if the involved problem is serious.

I think he doesn't need to install a fresh new OS to fix and remove the clipboard virus which you can see in your task manager.

It's like a clipboard.exe on the task manager to remove this you need to open the taskbar then processes tab then show processes from all users and you will find this just right click then open file location or properties just to find where this virus location path. After you find the exact location you need to scan it with antivirus to remove this virus.

Re-installing fresh OS isnt just hassle but rather you would get tired on recovering your files even you do made some back-ups on drive D: but you cant be sure that the malware is on the program itself being saved but well
most virus do directly goes to Drive C: on most cases and reformat will be the best option. It might be hassle but this will really clean up entirely.

We do have the same behavior when browsing up into net which i dont have the habit on clicking any links nor visiting unknown sites even i do have antivirus ESETnod32 premium im still make safety precautions
to avoid malwares.

OP, have you tried considering to use other OS such as GNU/Linux? It might save you from thing like this, though I'm sure you need to increase your security awareness on the internet. I stopped using Windows 3 years ago and so far I enjoy using Linux. Might take a bit time to learn but it's worth the effort.

Or scan it with different OS (attach your HDD/SSD to another computer or create recovery bootable USB device) since there's probability you're dealing with boot sector virus/malware.
I tried to deal with such viruses, always have hidden in the program familiar with the operation and thus re-produced even after the deletion of some of its files.
It is better to delete the entire files and re-install the operating system or burn the Linux distribution on the flash memory and then log on through.

THE STRANGE BTC ADDRESS: 13WyJeSeX6HQ6cr1puGPDksiqdDHKrkBqf (clicked the copy board at coinbase.com and that address was copied)

I usually have the habit of doing a Google search when I hit a bitcoin address (even though I feel like it will give me 0 result). Anyway I searched the Bitcoin address and it gave me one Google result to this malware analysis data.

https://totalhash.cymru.com/analysis/?790dec191e2c9af21b486d6793d621d9068db0ca

In string part you will find some more address.

But as far as I'm concern a strong anti-virus will do the work, never encounter this virus using my PC ofc it has AV on it. But reinstalling/resetting OS is also an option but you have to backup your important files or totally remove all of them since you don't know where's the source of the virus and I'm afraid 'twas attached on some of the files you will backup so deleting all your files will do.

be careful that sometimes antiviruses give people a false sense of security which can be their doom too. they protect you against most things but not all of them, so you still have to personally be responsible for your security and let the remaining things that fall through the cracks to your antivirus to catch.

I always say that prevention is most important thing when it comes to the security of our devices. Malwarebytes is good software, and it has a huge base of malware / adware definitions, which is good for removal them from OS. But it is far better to prevent malicious programs to infect our devices, and for that users should use proactive protection.

Just for info, my AV and MB Premium work together without any problems, which is in any case quite good protection, with the use of properly configured firewall.

I just wanna add that malwarebytes is a great software even without premium. Op can still keep it and either use it as a default AV (real time protection is only for premium users) or just for manual scanning (free users). AdwCleaner which is a free and light product made by them is also a must have.
I always say that prevention is most important thing when it comes to the security of our devices. Malwarebytes is good software, and it has a huge base of malware / adware definitions, which is good for removal them from OS. But it is far better to prevent malicious programs to infect our devices, and for that users should use proactive protection.

Yeahh but the problem is not everyone will pay for premium so they would have to look for another one with proactive protection and use it as their default, but as I said in my prev post, MB is good even without premium 'cause you can use them in your periodic manual scans.

And just to clear things up in case some ppl taught that I meant "manual scanning is enough". No, I did not meant it that way, I was mainly talking about what you can do with malwarebytes based on your situation (free user/premium).

Just for info, my AV and MB Premium work together without any problems, which is in any case quite good protection, with the use of properly configured firewall.

You mean both of their real time protection is activated? Wouldn't they fight each other?

There is always way to get licence at a cheaper price then what is on the official website page. I buy my licence from one forum member in Marketplace, it is working without problem. Scans are good, but key is in protection from internet threats.

Exactly, both are working at the same time and there is no problems. Antivirus+firewall do their job, and MB is just additional protection which include : web, exploit, malware & ransomware real time protection. I think this is something that every user should have on PC, especially if you are involved with cryptocurrency.
