Ledger Nano S is safe for everyone if you have best practices when using a hardware wallet, Please check this post from ledger reddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/aes8dg/i_lost_my_eth_automatically_from_my_ledger_nano_s/edsaic7, OP follow the youtube instruction to claim the "ETH hard fork", then he lost all the ETH because it's OP their own mistake, sorry to hear that and don't make the mistake again in the future.

Exact same thread title on bitcointalk and reddit..... Plus op posted a comment on other thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5095475.msg49171080#msg49171080) saying he lost eth because of this 'stupid hardfork'

= case closed (imo)

We don't have to try to find out what happened anymore, don't you think ?

Why did it happen?
as far as I know, this hardware wallet is very safe in protecting our assets that are affected by it. there might be an error that you made so that something like this happened.

There's no way of disappearing your coins unless you have shared your private keys with someone else or somehow your private key has been compromised. By the way, have you tried to claim any of the current forks? That may also be a reason.

I'm been following this thread but it looks like its not a problem of Ledger Nano S but the OP has been scammed:

This is indeed a scam I lost 24ETH today because of this stupid hardfork. Be careful about it guys.

His been a victim and I'm sure lots of users as well, so just beware of this stupid hard fork or something. Reminds me of what had happened during the bitcoin fork as well, a lot of videos and help going around, even someone development this so called wallet to claim your free bitcoin cash but it turns out to be scam as well.

Yes, we don't need to find out what happen anymore, OP already said that join the stupid hardfork and lost his ETH, hardware wallet is one of the best ways to store our crypto assets without worry security issue, just don't be greedy and everything will be alright.

this is strange why is that? I think Ledger is very safe because it requires your finger for each transaction confirmation, if you send it, you know

If you didn't leak your private key out, it should be there because it is basically impossible to brute force out of the key
Or, did your Ledger pass key got leaked?

Leaked i mean it is written there when it comes with it?
If not mistaken there's such case where the Nano ledger is actually accessed before sold to customer hmm

Yeah, he admitted it already on the other post he made.

Case closed!

OP hasn't lost his ETH from his 'ledger' wallet by doing nothing. But he was a victim of the fork scam of ETCV.

Be careful exporting your private keys to an unknown source or much better don't ever export it to any website. It's your private key and you don't expose it anywhere on internet.

Yep but I still find it's unfortunate that op does not take the time to respond to people who speak in the thread he created. He throws his info and disappears ... bof .... (he connected yesterday without posting messages)

pity

When you generated your private key did you save it on your PC, printed it out , sent it by mail, made photo of it by mobile, scanned it  etc. Are you the only person who was controlling the private key, did your store it safely?

Too bad for him but I guess it's just depressing that he figured out that he got scammed by those scam forks and it's not the fault of the ledger company that he thought of it as the main source of the fault.

You can back read or read the posts above yours.
