It takes a lot of focus and discipline to ride at high speeds and maintain your safety. The equipment has to be reliable, and requires inspection. People often neglect their bikes for months at a time, then think they can just hop on them and go. Even people who commute on their bikes regularly tend to overlook simple things like tire pressure.
Once you're riding you have to constantly lookout for potential obstacles, see the big picture. This isn't something that can be taken lightly, it's not just some words out of the driver's manual. You're life depends on how focused you are, and that cannot be stressed enough.
And then there are always idiots out there who refuses to acknowledge your existence, and even then, if they're made aware, they can be dismissive of the gravity of their neglect.
The risks are real, and only those who understand them should ever consider riding motorcycles.

You know, adequate preparation is good, and on every long trip, we need to prepare everything well. And on that trip, everything seemed ready, except for my consciousness
Normally I shouldn't be running too fast, but the eagerness of going to a city I like and the beautiful road made me pass my caution. But not just my consciousness, but the consciousness of others as well. Have you seen someone who doesn't turn on their lights at night? If they turned on the lights, I could see from afar, a little unlucky here
