Hey Everyone,

I'm, tinkering with an S9 SE at the moment and intended to use Braiins OS on it but the SE version is not supported.

Can anyone suggest other firmware? Kenn on the Low Power Mode.

Found two that i'm gonna try but let me know if there are others

1) https://mskminer.com/en/ (mentions support on the website and download file is named s9se)

2) https://www.djayos.com/ (Found after a search on this forum - mentioned that it had worked on a S9SE)

I'll let people know, its just good to test when these units cost very little after the halving nad high energy prices.

Braiins, Awesomeminer doesn't support this unit yet and I tried to search on Google there is Vnish firmware that supports this unit but I do not know if the site that I found on Google is legit or not because the vnish firmware I know safe is from asic.to.

If your purpose is the low-power mode then you don't need to flash it with different firmware because there is a way to get this hidden feature on this unit try the method by mikeywith below

Do you know if you can increase the voltage on the Low Power Mood?

I don't think that is an option, Lower Power Mode LPM comes with it's own default settings which is lower votlage and frewuency, if you have a certain voltage you want to try then why use Low Power Mode in the first place? Also what mining gear are you using? The same one you mentioned in the topic or a different one?

So I am using 2 S9 SEs.

From bitmain, they show the other S9s operating on Low Power Mode at 14 TH/s at around 1300 Watts https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019738593-Difference-between-Low-Power-Mode-and-Low-Power-Enhanced-Mode

But as I mentioned, when i put mine on LPM, it only does about 3 TH/s. I'm just wondering if I have to wait 3-5 hours for it to 'optimise' has rate. Sorry these are some basic questions.

Have you flashed the unit with the latest firmware? I mean the latest firmware from Bitmain?
if not flash it first and try it again because 3TH/s is a huge drop from 14th/s you might also need to check and maybe it's overheating that is why you just got the 3TH/s.
Check the kernel logs why the hashrate drops a lot.

14th and 1300 watts seems wrong but I don't remember if I ever owned that model.

I did actually speak to Support at Bitmain and they mentioned that it looks like its something to do with the Fans - they mentioned unplugging and then plugging the fans back in and doing a reset of the device.

So i'll give both a go and see if either solution works.
