I don't know if theymos will like the idea but big part of the circulating merit goes to him and then this smerit is just "lost" or fairly distributed to other members, in addition he can generate as much smerit as he wants so basically he doesn't need it.
... and he is crossing his own suggestion.

Quote
You have received a total of ... merit. This is what determines your forum rank. You typically cannot lose this merit. You have ... sendable merit (sMerit) which you can send to other people. There is no point in hoarding sMerit; keeping it yourself does not benefit you, and we reserve the right to decay unused sMerit in the future.

Therefor I have a suggestion.
All the merit that he got ( or gonna get in the future) and he is not gonna use to be distributed among the merit sources based on their source ratios.

It can be done on 3-months or 6-months basis for example, the amount for the previous 3/6 months.
If the merit is not enough for all the sources can be done once a year like a Christmas gift Cheesy

It's just an idea Wink

There isn't a shortage of SMerit to award, just a shortage of post to receive it. Even if Theymos controls the system, he is still a part of it, and he awards sMerit as he sees fit based on his own evaluation of a post.

Theymos Smerits are like Satoshi coins. Even if he doesn't want to move them, they are rightfully of him.

Plus, according to BPIP.org he is only hodling around the same amount he has sent... And he could create them out of thin air if he wanted, it's not like anything is being "lost" here.

You're somewhat contradicting yourself here
in addition he can generate as much smerit
Thus he doesn't need or have to give his earned Smerits to merit sources, when he came generate as much and keep he's to himself distributing it when a post meets his merit requirement criteria.

The fact that theymos is an administrator doesn't mean he should have bee a different right from others in here,as many other members have as much as Smerits as theymos.

As you said, he can generate as many as he wants, thus distributing his sMerits will change nothing.
I would understand it if the total number of sMerits was fixed.
It is better to ask him to merit more posts though  Grin

OK, I agree that he is a member of the system like we are, but he is a bit more extraordinary.
Sources gives merit to the users , those users send merit to Theymos, then the sMerit generated are hoarded . The total circulation of merit is decreased because those end up in the smerit "pit".
I think theymos is also a merit source together with his alt account so he distributes merit too.

When I'm meriting someone I know that the smerit I generated is in circulation and other users will benefit from it. I sometimes merit Theymos too so I'm hoping those merit to be in a good use later.

So all we have to hope for then are more fresh quality members Smiley

OK, I agree with you with you guys, maybe it's because I did't see theymos as a regular user here, more like an admin and he has the full control over the system + in addition some sources were complain about shortage of source merit so this is came as an idea as I said before.

Well, I don't think the idea makes sense. theymos is both the creator of merits and destroyer of smerits(if he really needs).  Also, meriting his posts and posts from inactive accounts are literally a wastage of smerits. If those merits would have been there it could have helped some newbies to rank up. For instance, 1500 merits sent to satoshi and other inactive accounts has gone completely useless. Saying that as a honor is absolute nonsense.

Therefor I have a suggestion.
All the merit that he got ( or gonna get in the future) and he is not gonna use to be distributed among the merit sources based on their source ratios.
Most of the merit sources are not clearing up their monthly limit or rather they don't have merit worthy posts as mentioned by Jet Cash. Hence, giving anything higher to them is literally same as meriting theymos. 20k merit generation per month is enough is they are utilised properly.

I do have a suggestion, people never stop meriting satoshi/theymos. Hence theymos can disable +Merit button in his/satoshi posts.

I am not agree with that point. People's are sending merit them for appreciation, not for rank up or something else. Generate new smerit for merit source isn't difficult for admin. There is different budgets for specific merit sources. He can increase it anytime he want. It's really not important spend his own smerit although he is spending his smerit continuously. I am agree to add more merit sources and increase merit amount. I have doubts that all merit sources are spending their monthly budgets.

in addition some sources were complain about shortage of source merit
Theymos can fix that at the blink of an eye, and that's much easier than manually redistributing sMerits. If theymos wanted to he:
"would just create accounts with Ultra-Legendary status, 1 million merit, +9999 trust, etc."

Theymos does not need this merits to rank UP for sure and he could give any number of smerits to a merit source, so saving his merits and distributing it among the merit sources would not come to any effect.

Just a better alterative to your request would be adding more smerits to all the available merit sources and also adding more potential people to the list of merit source

OK, let's close the subject then , I assume that my merit I've sent to him will be redistributed one day to those who deserve.
I still see him as Administrator rather then a regular user, so admiration for the grate work he has done and still doing, I'll continue meriting him when I feel those posts need to stand out.
