Yes exactly all the members don't need to be passionate about the bitcoin and don't need to have goals like you but what best they can do is to contribute best out of their knowledge rather than making irrelevant posts as forum needs such members participation.When all members will contribute towards healthy discussion the and treat this as discussion forum not as source of income in their mind we will see the post quality being improvement drastically.Like you said exchange knowledge like what you know share with others members and learn in continuing phase and evolve yourself with the same.Then only you can rank up so work for them.Earn merits with your posts.

This pace can be managed by only such members who have control over the car or in other words who have specified knowledge and dedication and have experience for the same.The newbies trying to gain merits at the same speed without any prior knowledge of bitcoin or crypto market whether technical or non technical would not be able to kickstart the engine also and will lie with other dormant account who are just posting and not gained merits from long time.So just learn and work for it man.A little advice for you.

Of course, mileage can vary in terms of how much anyone is going to want to send merits for members involved in shitcoins or various scams.. or smoke and mirror projects..  but sure there are members who actually believe in the merits of various shitcoin projects and members will sometimes send merits if a member is able to explain some convoluted bullshit in a way that is a wee bit less convoluted, even if it still hardly makes any sense to some of us.. ..

and considering my own number of smerits sent out would surely be reduced if someone is either posting about shitcoins or has ways of talking about various projects in which s/he does not seem to understand what the fuck is bitcoin..  and the place of their shitcoin in the scheme of things.

I cannot recall coming across a thread that attempts to quantify the merit differences between topics.. but it seems to me that quite a few merit sources do get turned off when shitcoin talk exceeds a certain threshold.. so in that regard, there will be variance between members regarding how much shitcoin talk they are willing to tolerate before becoming uninspired in terms of hitting that send smerit button.

Congratulations, it was an amazing journey so far, though is not easy but your words and interest of supporting the form are really encouraging. This caurage is one of the best caurage I can see because it was very priccise with the ambition of help the entire forum. I first knew about Bitcoin before I joined this forum. In fact, I joined this forum because I wanted to know more about bitcoin, although the signature campaigns on this forum also motivated me, but yet I have to go beyond to know more about bitcoin. What I later noticed was that I was becoming better than before, my family and friends see me useful, asking questions about Bitcoin, like questions partaining to transactions and safety, which I have gained a lot from on this forum, members that post these quality posts are completely Bitcoin enthusiasts which you will completely know from the way they post. I later find myself posting more in Bitcoin boards, while altcoin boards is not that useful because what are mostly there are posts about coin pump and speculations. But what I mostly needed are on Bitcoin boards which are full of posts of life experiences, discussions partaining to security, safety and privacy. Even if I have altcoins, what I gained from security, safety and privacy of my Bitcoin on bitcoin boards on this forum is enough for me to perfectly hold altcoins of my choice without no probelm or attack.

Although, it is not necessary to be passionate about Bitcoin, but it really also helped me because Bitcoin has opened my eyes towards a lot I would still have been ignorant to. Also, Bitcoin price pumped, it is deflationary, it is an appreciative asset, yet a store of value even as it is still a speculative asset. If someone is not passionate about Bitcoin in this century, likely the person would have been so old to not knowing what are in vogue because those kind of people will most likely prefer the old ways.

Totally agree with you that if we are passionate about something and are totally dedicated towards it we develop a keen interest in the particular work and start exploring new things related to it which could open many new knowledge doors for us.Like you are learning about programming and watch lessons on Udemy and YouTube and say you have passion to be a developer.Then you will not do the exact same thing as being taught in lectures but will write your own codes to check your ability and will fail many times(expert also makes bug in codes) but with practice you becomes expert in that feild.So you was having extra interest for bitcoin which led you to this forum and you keep learning about it and write posts for the same sharing knowledge with other members on the forum which has in turn accomplished you to reach high rank members list.But we all have inteoin various direction and what matters most is that share and learn on the forum in best manner and treat it as best Bitcoin and crypto related discussion forum.

When i also joined the forum I was not having much information about bitcoin and crypto market but later on when i read all the useful posts made by other members it made me keen to know in detail about how bitcoin actually works.I decided to learn about the same and for that i explored the must read for all newbies who wants to know about bitcoin which is to read Mastering Bitcoin and this helped me a lot to understand the technical parts of bitcoin.Slowly more and more knowledge addition helped me to gain merits also as post quality was improved.So in this way we can continue to learn if not being too passionate.But the main part as said by you is if not passionate then don't be ignorant at all if you are member of the forum.You are also one of the example for other members as you have more than 1400 merits in short span only because you have knowledge to share and ability to learn from others.

Well, this is the most important point that forum users should pay attention to.

This forum was created with the aim of hosting more interaction between bitcoin users and exchanging knowledge with each other. There's no way I could have run without starting on a crawl and neither did all the other contributors we know of. We all have to learn and continually improve our knowledge if we want to be useful users and all of that requires sacrifice and consistency in order for us to go through the process properly. If we can go through the process and stages well, then remember the title of this thread: Ranking up is possible!

When we are passionate about crypto then we should at least join a community like bitcointalk forum for us to increase our knowledge and also be able to help those who are also passionate yet they just started not long ago so, you sre most likely a mentor for those who just started but very passionate or love learning about bitcoin or other cryptocurrency related discussions. You get knowledge and you also share. This is what it is all about in here.

I found some people with too much merits and some are not getting even what's required we should equalise all this stuff.

If there is activity noticed it should be merited if it qualifies certain level. I found some members have more than 500 activity and are newbies which shows something is not working appropriately.

• There is nothing to equalize, merit is not a social amenity it's a reward for good contribution and not everyone contributes equally.

• Users having more that 500 activities and no merits actually shows the system is functioning as it was meant to, rewarding quality contribution and preventing spammers from ranking up.

Nothing at all. Some users draw out their posts to make them look more thought out, but if it can be expressed in 2 lines, additional lines are unnecessary.

I did some efforts to have a look at his post history as well to see if there are any posts worth meriting but you are right there are not any of them.The reason being is that he has made 100 posts and most of them are just below 100 characters and they are simply answer that this coin will/can rise which everybody can predict and how can he expects merit on them? I did a check on his 5 pages post history and found that account is registered back in 2016 but still he manage to get 2 merits on this post by @Pmalek because he shared some good points there apart from his regular irrelevant posting.If he is thinking that it's quality posting then he is wrong because he has not shared any good points or helpful which he should also know.

We are not talking about equal rights here or some sort of real life inequality but the merit system was established to promote healthy and effective contributions on the forum but if you say quality poster and shit poster should be given merits equally then you are wrong here also as this was not the aim of implementing the system.Those who are getting merits have shared some good stuff and lead a healthy conversation among memebers.I have reached legendary rank from senior member although it took me a while but still i manage to reach but if i also thought the same i would be still at the same levels.There is no favourism on forum and you just contribute best out of you and rest merits will be delivered to you by members.

You are right merit are not delivered based on the length of paragraphs but the information you are sharing with others and how useful it is and it could be one to two lines or full long paragraphs.You have received 2 merits on your post which is just 3-4 lines but your other 2 lines post are not at all justified for merit and you can have a look at other post to make comparison.

Read the @OP post and you will find out how he managed to reach that levels within that time period and you will come to know exchange of knowledge and his efforts towards forum.The merit system will promote you to increase your knowledge and enhance your posting skills so it's better to be part of it happily.

You just explained the work of teachers and professors and how useless it is if you think about. A teacher explains the same things every year until it's time to retire because every year he/she gets new pupils. The teacher doesn't say I have already spoken about that in the last 25 years, but does it over and over again. I understand that it's hard to find new and unique things to discuss, but you can try. Even though the basics have been explained numerous times, you still have people who lose their seeds, don't know how to create a wallet, or download fake phishing software. Learn how to do it properly and point out the mistakes they are making.

Sorry, but I disagree. I remember you from Ratimov's Help newbies and those who have a little left to the next rank thread where you applied to have your post checked. I told you there that it's full of one and two-liners without much effort shown. I did find one post that I merited that had some interesting ideas. Hopefully you can start writing some more.

You have equal opportunities as those people to get merited, and that's the only thing that matters. Everything else depends on the efforts you put in.

There are members who have over 1000 activity points without merits as well. Why? Because all they do is bounty hunting, posting social media reports, and spamming the forum. The best is many members are congratulating him for his journey and receiving enough merits till now and all that stuff and it's all good but most of them are ignoring what he has shared in his @OP thread which explains his journey on the forum from 2018 to 2021 july when this post was last edited.He has given so many tips that we all can take advantage of and convert them it into our opportunity to gain some additional merits but we ignore the main part which can help us to reach high levels on forum.

Often the success of raising forum user rank will be the best motivator for other users trying to do the same, and this has happened to me.

Being a useful user on this forum is a choice so it must be driven by will, motivation, and consistency, all of which will greatly affect the achievement of the target we want. I believe every individual has the potential to do their best, but when the main goal is to make money then this will definitely prevent them from developing better. I know, building a good account reputation may not be as easy as we say, but we have to work hard to really care about the rule and also the best post quality as expected.

I earned 3 000 Merits last year and am one example of what the author of this topic writes about.

Lol! Casually mentioning you earned 3,000 merits last year beating my poor 2,900 record. Of course we both know that exists a specific date interval much shorter than 12 months where you gained 3,000 merits.
But I’ll leave this as an excercise to the reader.
