I hope that the OP really went ahead with his investment plans. Had he invested $10,000 (as he had mentioned in his post) five months ago, then by now his investment would have grown to $19,000. Is there any other asset out there, which can give you 90% returns in such a short duration? Yep, BTC is still a good buy. It reached $20k, and without a doubt it will even surpass its ATH, looking at its graphical history. The OP posted this five months back, I hope that he went ahead with his plans and made the investment in crypto. Assuming he did just that, he may be sitting on top of +122% returns now. And for the past 24 to 48 hours, it looks like the prices are stabilizing and we may see a slight correction affecting both BTC and the alts. But from now onwards, it should be a smooth rally to 10K or more. The thing to remember here is that the additional supply has been removed from the market. So now the demand is outstripping the supply.

I've always been watching bitcoin since mid-2013 up to now, and the market/bubble is painfully toxic. I'm not a big investor or economist, and I probably still only have superficial knowledge on how the entire blockchain systems work.

I just patiently watch the graph, and keep telling myself not to invest because everyone tells me it's a giant bubble that will someday pop. Recently, I started to run a few side businesses dealing in Bitcoin as payment methods, but I've never stored it long term and always converted it to cash.

I remember back in 2014 when I first thought of investing in Bitcoin as a long-term investment, and obviously was pressured out of it because everyone kept thinking it was a bubble that was about to burst. I'm starting to think about it again now that Bitcoin is starting to crash - and generally speaking in the past it's done quite well after crashes, recovering and increasing every once in a while.

However, I wouldn't go so far as to call it an investable asset. There are  big reasons why. Nothing substantial has changed with the investment thesis. Institutional investors haven't yet started to put money into bitcoin on a large scale as was widely predicted, and the number of places you can spend bitcoin hasn't really changed much in recent years.

there is no drastic decline at this time because the market has at least recovered and ended the bear market, if this is a good price to invest it is better to buy more before the market is pumped again to be higher, the long wait in this case will make you not have another chance if you continue to wait for lower prices

If you will invest in bitcoin. It should be done during the first months of 2019. Either in January or February because as of now, it moves in upward direction leading for bitcoin to break the resistance level. Maybe, 2017 boom market may surpass in this year.
