I'm not sure if this has been suggested before, feel free to ignore this topic if it has. I've created an example using the NATO alphabet to prevent people from starting arguments in here as well Grin.

Creating/editing your trust list:

Trust list after updating:

(Caps change due to some entries being actual usernames.)

When the list gets longer and you want to revise it it would be much more convenient if your trust list remains sorted alphabetically after updating it (or at least keep the trusted and distrusted users seperated).

I agree it would be easier to view if it were sorted alphabetically.

Just to play devil's advocate... Having it sorted by userID or registration date does give an interesting perspective.  For example, the top of my trust settings are full of trusted additions (experienced members) while the bottom is full of exclusions (mostly alts from outcasted scammers or misguided newbies).  You have to go down to the 21st entry of my trust list to find an exclusion...  This might not be as evident otherwise, so it serves a bit of a purpose.

But why you care about the design of your trust list anyway ?? By sight, it as a list of names that can be displayed in any form and you can track any name using ctrl+F command (standard).
If it really worths the time, i expect Theymos to work on it without waiting to be suggested by community.

Having the trust list sorted by userID looks much evident than alphabetic order.

Looks like you have a lot of free time to think about such weired matters!
Just take care of your trust list and please don't bother others with this stuff. This is what i think!

*Am ignoring this topic because it doesn't provide any kind of useful tool, not because it may be suggested before.

I am fine with either alphabetically or userID, as long as the trust and distrust list stays seperated. I just figured it would be easier to sort it by changing the list to being sorted alphabetically. I don't quite get your hostility and telling me "not to bother others with this stuff". The Meta section is about discussing forum features right? Don't respond if you don't care.

I prefer the current sorting.

You can copy your list into a word processor, sort it, make your changes, and replace your old trust list with it. When you click Update, it's sorted by userID again.
