Don't know about WIPL being as much popular as the current IPL as the craze is much less compared to the current one. Also, I don't know the names of the current Women Cricketers to be excited about it. It's just because they don't get as much recognition like Sania Mirza or Sania Nehwal.

Women cricket is underrated I think. It deserves more buzz than current. Indian Women team is pretty much good team as far as I know. WIPL would be a great edition for women cricket to be flourished.

WIPL would be a great edition and BCCI should give it a go. Let the crowd decide how it goes? I am sure it will attract a lot of women spectators too. This event will also generate revenue for BCCI, I do not see anything stopping from it to happen next year.

Aussies already doing this for some years so now time for BCCI to take advantage and have some good money which will increase good interest for women in India they already doing some good in women sports but this could be biggest as too much money and good marketing can give them good advantage against WBBL.

Just wondering, would there still be female cheerleaders by the stands if we actually see a woman IPL. I mean if its women IPL, the cheerleaders could be male models. If women IPL gets going, i hope we can have more of women team sports in the country. It'd take us forward as a country in normalizing the female presence.
I don't know much about the cheerleaders for the women's matches. But I guess in the WBL, they have the women cheerleaders. That said, here in India perhaps cricket is the only sport in which there is a gender lag right now. There are well established women's leagues, in almost all the other sports. And that includes badminton, boxing, wrestling, tennis, football and hockey. I heard that even the Women's Kabaddi Challenge is doing quite well.

It doesn't matter if there are no cheerleaders or much prize-money ( although I prefer same prize-money for both men and women tournaments , it might be difficult as men sports gather much larger views than women , unfortunately) or any other thing , all they need is a platform to showcase their talent and in the meantime the audience to enjoy the matches.I think they can play a new 15-over IPL ( I think it will be interesting ) . I feel 10 overs is too less and 20 overs is more in a less scoring match , 15 overs would be ideal .

Anymore reduction of the already reduced 20 overs per side would mean that bowlers would completely lose their significance in cricket. I would say that 20 overs is ideal. The batsmen have the advantage here, but still the bowlers have something to play for. If you reduce it any further, then it will become boring, as you will only witness one type of shot from the batsmen during the entire duration of the match.

Bowlers also might get evolve according to the need if there is 15 over matches in the future but as cricket lover I don't want to see such reduction because it may get less interesting to watch the matches if there are not too many opportunities for all the 11 players were playing the match. Lets come to women's cricket tournaments, which is not popular as men's tournament but they are getting way better than how it was before two years. On social media more people likes to talk and appreciate the women'r cricket players as well and more over people starts to have crush on those players.

Only a matter of time before it starts getting to pick up.

Even matches involving the national women's team doesn't get a good response within India. In Australia, the women have a lot of interest in sports and a lot of them follow women players such as Ellyse Perry. But here in India, women are more interested in TV sops and shopping, rather than in sports. Among my female friends, there are only a very few cricket fans. But that doesn't mean that BCCI can ignore the women players. They need to start the WIPL, latest by 2021.

People here love cricket so if the tournament falls off from or doesn't clashes on with gents cricket team schedule, I think it should be fine. BCCI can try with one season and see how much successful it gets.

Initially as said it would take couple of years for people to start and cheering the teams and come in stadium. BCCI would have to put extra efforts to attract crowd and build some interest in people so that they can view the matches in TV as well and get good sponsorship. It is only a matter of time and coming years will have a good response for sure in WIPL as well. How and through which medium this could be done would have to be decided by BBCI.

I feel that BCCI missed one golden chance when Indian W team reached the finals in 2017, they lost the final but everyone in India were very happy with their performance now Hype kinda seems dead to me... Let's hope they start this by 2021. I watched the few games of recent WC in Hotstar and i noticed that 1 million or so people were always watching the game so i think viewership is not problem here. PS : I don't fancy the idea of cheer leading but if there is any vote then my vote is for Female Cheerleaders. or may be include 1 Male cheer leader with 2 Girls. India is big country and they have very good media as well
Media is knowledgeable and supportive as far as Cricket is concern. Other than that its not that good.

Tough time for India and world, Free time for BCCI officials and they are keeping themselves busy with this, good for them if it happens. Atm situation is not looking good and I have a feeling that lock-down might extend.

For sure the numbers are going to increase a lot in the coming weeks because now only India invented their own test kit which is cost effective and less time consuming than the before used kits so governments will test the people who have mild symptoms as well from now on.

If I am not wrong, then only 3 matches remained in the PSL before it was suspended due to the COVID 19 outbreak. But I watched most of the group stage matches live on DSPORT and I have to say that the matches were of very high quality. I would say they were more of IPL-BBL level, rather than BPL-Super Smash level. The crowd response was really good and the foreign players performed well. They should not worry too much about the remaining three matches. What they achieved was phenomenal.
