Not only Tone Vays has been whipped by the giant BitMEX-belt. We have too!

In this story, which we actually find somewhat entertaining (5 different guys from customer support essentially arguing with each other, but via us), we account for the abuse by BitMEX that we have been subject of:
https://www.cryptowisser.com/bitmex-affiliate-program-a-story-of-customer-abuse/

Do any of you guys have any similar experiences? Any mistreatments? Or is it just us and Tone Vays that have been unlucky? Smiley

Looking forward to hearing your views!

All the best,

Never use their exchange site before because they don't have trading fees before that is why I don't feel safe using their exchange. There is a big pump happen last year with bitcoin I don't know how they trust this exchange.

However, if you are looking to someone who abused by Bitmex you can check their announcement thread here and start to ask someone there
here is the official thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=869237.0

Or you can check this thread who experienced some issue from Bitmex before you can check it from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5066922.0

It's an unregulated exchange, what do people expect? It's out to make money, not to hand it over to people for free. Tone Vays isn't actually trading, he just waits for people to use his ref link as passive income source.

If you have that many refs, you're costing the exchange too much money. I'm not trying to justify anything, because it's unethical in every possible way, but as I said, it's an unregulated exchange.

I'm sure that if Tone actually used BitMEX for trading purposes, his account wouldn't be touched. You have to play the game right. He only withdraws from BitMEX and after a while they don't like that anymore....

The story is quite funny to read. It would be so much better if there are real screenshots/chat logs to back up the story. Seems like they're really not professional. Why people don't use Deribit or something like that? I heard Deribit is better than Bitmex (never tried both of them before, I don't really like margin trading).

Seems like almost any unregulated exchange is the same as scammy exchange now.

this isn't a conventional scam accusation. bitmex and other exchanges like bitfinex and okex have long been accused of trading against their users. triggering margin calls and stop orders is the most common complaint. i don't doubt it---i've had some experiences on bitmex in particular that makes me question their practices. there are sometimes anomalies in bitmex's trading action. things like extremely long wicks in both directions (running customers stops on both sides) when nothing of the sort happened in the spot markets.

this stuff is impossible to prove though. no point bringing it to "scam accusations".

I think the first few posters here didn't even read OP properly or clicked on his link. Very funny experience, thanks to OP for sharing, although I don't think I'm familiar with the story about Tone Vays?

For me it's amazing you guys even changed all the things on your review everytime "Esteban" requested. You're doing a review and not even paid for it. I do agree you shouldn't have misreviewed the site though if they only do Bitcoin, why did you also name other cryptos?

Anyway, funny story but I guess none of us are shocked!

Hi slaman29,

Thanks for your post! The Tone Vays story can be found here: https://blokt.com/news/tone-vays-got-his-bitmex-account-suspended

Well, the reason for listing other cryptos is that you could speculate in such other cryptos at BitMEX through derivative instruments. This essentially means that you could buy contracts saying "if ETH goes up 10%, this contract goes up 100%" (such example would have had what we call 10x leverage). So if you wanted to speculate in a certain crypto, there were a few other options than BTC available visavis the contracts. The contracts were normally 10x-50x. However, the only crypto you could own directly (and not be exposed to only visavi contract) was BTC...

Hope this clarifies. Smiley
