Hi,

Almost 15+ hours when I received $0.11 btc to my wallet address I copied from my electrum wallet 3.2.
now, when I'm checking the list of addresses because funds still didn't add up in my wallet. I can't see that particular address which received $0.11 ($150) btc yesterday.
all I did was to upgrade my portable electrum wallet from 3.2 to 3.3. but again, does upgrading wallet can cause this issue of address and funds not showing in my electrum wallet?

This is the address - 16sDU2P7qn24Ywg1xR4i31e7kKbhPtpz6V
and this is the transaction ID - c23d3a92e66176ee1b6d2a14a51b3179c78a79ed7efde3ef194a594008973f2e

please help me with it.

Sorry, it’s actually ismine(16sDU2P7qn24Ywg1xR4i31e7kKbhPtpz6V) without the quotation marks.

Edit: weird... not sure why it’s not working.

Sorry, it’s actually ismine(16sDU2P7qn24Ywg1xR4i31e7kKbhPtpz6V) without the quotation marks.

Tried all variation without quotation marks and with it. by adding space between ismine or without but still the same thing.

please help me with it.

how did you upgrade? Do you keep old wallet and use your old wallet with your new electrum version? Do you keep your seed?

I use only portable version of electrum. when 3.3 update was available. I deleted the 3.2 standalone executable and placed the 3.3 there. and simply opened it by double clicked. everything showed up normal.

and I imported my jaxx wallet phrase in electrum. so yes, I have my jaxx wallet backup phrase of 12 words but I'm checking in my jaxx wallet too. and everything is same. all transactions are there in both except the one $150 transaction and the address. new transactions are showing up just fine in both wallet simultaneously.

it is 0.0415 not 0.11. Are you sure the transaction was in your electrum 3.2? Try to backup old wallet and create new wallet use your seed

Yes. my bad. that was the typo. and yes. It was an address from 3.2 version.
How do I backup the old wallet?

as I said above. It was a standalone exe file and I deleted it yesterday. but in my new version of 3.3 everything was already there for me when I first opened it.

just save default_wallet in electrum_data\wallets to another folder

I did. but the seed is not available. It was an imported wallet.

Did you import using the Jaxx 12 word seed mnemonic... or did you import private keys?

Private keys. and I'm not sure how it worked. but transaction showed up in my Jax Wallet Android client and not in desktop. but I'm pretty sure it was a wallet address from Electrum.
IDK how things messed up and even though I'm using same Jaxx backup in my pc and phone wallet. the transaction is only showing in Android Jaxx Wallet.

This was a headache. I just transferred everything from all my wallets to my exchange website btc address. now, I'm deleting both electrum and jaxx wallet and their backup permanently. and will start using Electrum again with seed this time from scratch.

Bye Bye Jaxx Wallet forever.

if you want to run "ismine()" command in your console you need to use single quotes to pass the address string in it like this:
Code:
ismine('16sDU2P7qn24Ywg1xR4i31e7kKbhPtpz6V')
it does the same thing as your GUI though where you pressed ctrl+f in your address tab.

as for your problem, have you checked whether you have another wallet? click File > Open and see if you have another wallet file stored, maybe this address was from that one.
additionally see if you have a clipboard hijacker! maybe you copied the correct address but it changed it. if you copy another address, will it remain the same in your memory when you paste it?
try this address for example
Code:
1PHLkjiXvvUfw7AtZoPC6hhnNg6jZ836kw
copy then paste to see if it changes.

Did you run electrum from a usb flash drive? Was it the portable or standalone version? I ask because you've mentioned both above

You have the same wallet on multiple devices and the other addresses in the wallet match?

This was a headache. I just transferred everything from all my wallets to my exchange website btc address. now, I'm deleting both electrum and jaxx wallet and their backup permanently. and will start using Electrum again with seed this time from scratch.

I think it's much safer if you just create a new wallet with Electrum and then transfer all of your BTC to this new address instead of transferring it to exchange and then transferring it to your new wallet. Well, hopefully, you won't face the same trouble again.

Private keys. and I'm not sure how it worked. but transaction showed up in my Jax Wallet Android client and not in desktop. but I'm pretty sure it was a wallet address from Electrum.

All I can think is you import different private keys. If you import the same seed/private key, then I'm sure it will show the same balance in Jaxx/Electrum/any other wallet. Not sure how did this happen though.

Jaxx is a Hierarchical Deterministic (HD) wallet... it can generate an infinite number of private keys from the seed that is generated from your 12/24 word seed mnemonic.

However, if you simply imported private keys into Electrum, it can only ever know about that specific group of private keys... it cannot generate new keys (and new addresses) that match any new keys/addresses generated in Jaxx.

For instance:

Jaxx:
"seed12345" generates keys:
privKeyA => Address1
privKeyB => Address2
privkeyC => Address3
privKeyD => Address4
...
etc

If you were to export privKeyA through privKeyD and then import them into an Electrum Wallet... that wallet would contain this:

Electrum:
<NO SEED>
privKeyA => Address1
privKeyB => Address2
privkeyC => Address3
privKeyD => Address4

Now, if in Jaxx you then generate a new key/address... you will have the following two wallets:

Jaxx:
"seed12345" generates keys:
privKeyA => Address1
privKeyB => Address2
privkeyC => Address3
privKeyD => Address4
privKeyE => Address5

Electrum:
<NO SEED>
privKeyA => Address1
privKeyB => Address2
privkeyC => Address3
privKeyD => Address4

Note that Electrum does NOT know about privKeyE/Address5... unless you were to also export it and import into Electrum.

TLDR; If you want to import an HD wallet into another wallet... you should import the seed/seed mnemonic to ensure that you can generate ALL the private keys/addresses.
