Duality began work back in 2015, launching Sequence(SEQ) first on the 15th of September 2016, followed by Dynamic(DYN) a year later on the 18th of December 2017. Dynamic v2.4 is currently under final development and about to enter testing. An SDK(Software Development Kit) will also be provided by Duality to allow developers to utilize BDAP and the DHT to create their own dApps(decentralized applications). Also included in the v2.4 release will be CUDA/OpenCL and the ability to mine Dynamic within the wallet using your GPU(s). Duality has been developing multiple dApps built upon its innovative protocol BDAP(Blockchain Directory Access Protocol) and DHT(Distributed Hash Table), whilst utilizing the second tier network of Dynodes(Masternodes). pShare will be the first dApp to go to market, allowing private and secure sharing of data with friends, family, and business associates. This week Duality released VGP(Very Good Privacy), a much-needed overhaul of PGP(Pretty Good Privacy) end-to-end encryption standalone library which was originally authored way back in 1991. VGP will be utilized within BDAP, allowing reduced header size and increased speed of encryption and decryption. This makes it more than suitable for blockchain or mobile application. VGP(Very Good Privacy) is proprietary code owned by Duality and is not free to use. If you want to use the library outside of Dynamic, please contact Duality for a license. Sequence v1.3 is due to release soon with updates and fixes that address a bug where some users were experiencing stake(PoS) halting and the wallet requiring a restart to get it started again. The Sequence blockchain is maintained by Duality, however, it originally went under another name and the original developers abandoned the project. We adopted the blockchain, rebranded it, updated the core software and maintain it; so that it can be utilized to provide data redundancy of BDAP entries and timestamp verification for Dynamic.

Why Everyone Should Get Dynamic Duality is set to release a string of products built upon BDAP (Blockchain Directory Access Protocol) and the DHT (Distributed Hash Table), utilizing the utility token of Dynamic (DYN) and its blockchain.BDAP/DHT/SDKDuality is positioning BDAP to compete directly against open source LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) solutions, such as OpenLDAP which currently thousands of companies worldwide utilize. BDAP will allow these companies to streamline their processes, eliminate downtime and dramatically reduce costs without remodeling or rebuilding. With the BDAP SDK(Software Development Kit) developers will be able to create their own dApps (decentralized applications), fueled and built upon the Dynamic (DYN) blockchain; with more power, flexibility and control than is offered by any other blockchain or cryptocurrency. There is an initial cost in Dynamic (DYN) to register an entry on the blockchain, which gives it access to the DHT and a time-period whereby it is valid. Prior to, or after the entry expires, it will need re-registering with further payment in Dynamic (DYN) for continued use. Dynamic (DYN) is directly tied into each dApp and fundamental for fueling its functionality. With companies holding multitudes of entries on databases, moving these entries to the DHT via BDAP comes with a cost, albeit minimal, that cost is in Dynamic (DYN). Duality will also offer custom binaries that are needed to connect to your sidechain if you only want to permit access to authorized users and tighten the security of the sidechain. Your custom binary can be deployed on your current Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) so that it can be integrated with your other enterprise applications. The public main network DHT is hosted by public main network Dynodes and requires ‘dApp code certificates’ to be bought and registered on the blockchain for DHT entries to be accepted. Sidechain dApps are controlled by their developer (with their own self-hosted Dynode network) who can issue sidechain dApp codes. In future BDAP versions (in addition to our DHT) other decentralized data stores will be available, such as large blob storage ( IPFS or BitTorrent based), and fast NoSQL databases. Dynamic (DYN) Dynodes & MiningThe 2nd tier network of Dynodes performs crucial verification functions and operators are rewarded periodically with Dynamic (DYN) payments for their work and availability. Currently, there are over 1500 active Dynodes on the network with payments being periodically received roughly every three days. Miners can get involved also, we have Nvidia and AMD standalone miners available on our GitHub, and mining pools awaiting your registration. When Dynamic v2.4.0.0 is released, you will also be able to mine standalone with your Nvidia or AMD GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) within the Dynamic Daemon & Qt. Duality with the assistance of William Kibbler has produced a Node.js module specifically for Dynamic (DYN) and its Argon2d hash parameters. Argon2i and Argon2 have been removed from the module. This module will be utilized by the upcoming Insight API but allows other developers to also utilize it for mining pools, custom wallets, block explorers and other Node.js based applications for Dynamic. It is available to install via the Node.js Package Manager (NPM) by using the command: $ npm install node-dynamic-argon2d or by cloning from the Duality Github and installing locally using NPM: $ git clone https://github.com/duality-solutions/node-dynamic-argon2d

If mining pools are finding they are having difficulties submitting a valid template, please ensure you are using our modified Yiimp code - https://github.com/duality-solutions/yiimpIf people are wondering why this block is taking so long, it is because the mining pools are likely not running our Yiimp code that is compatible with the Fluid Protocol, which is resulting in the template they are sending back being rejected.
To help push us through this hard block, we are requesting if people are able to solo mine with GPU or CPU (or both), to please do so.

News for Sequence
I have been in talks and meetings about the direction and use-case of Sequence. The ability to create smart contracts for the Sequence platform is coming, and an entirely new programming language which is "process-oriented"; with all computation being done by the decentralised nodes. This will be at least 4 months from now and we will be keeping the community updated as more information unfolds.
News for Dynamic
We are itching to get 2.4.0.0 out of the door and released, with pShare hot on its heels a month or so after. pShare, even if ready when Dynamic is, cannot be released at the same time. First we must wait for the majority of the network to update and then we can activate BDAP via Spork, at this point pShare can be released as it is reliant on BDAP for its functionality. We have screenshots coming and have plans to have user guides etc. for both BDAP and pShare prior to release.

I'm running out of time because Bittrex is ceasing operations in New York (where I live) on June 9. I have to withdraw my SEQ before that date, or I'll lose access to my funds.
I downloaded the Sequence wallet from their website, but it doesn't work. It appears to be a 'dead' wallet.
I tried to create a paper wallet on WalletGenerator.net, but there is no support for this coin.
I tried to transfer it to another exchange, but Bittrex is the only one that supports it.
Help!

Team's Discord channel is very active, I posted and got a useful response very shortly. This coin is well supported. Many teams have moved support to Discord or Telegram as its much easier then this forum. Solution was to simply add more nodes to the conf file inside the sequence wallet data directory (during installation it asked you for location, default is probably your windows C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming OR C:\ProgramData folder) I added the following, restarted the wallet and viola, made a number of connections and started syncing. addnode=81.221.130.197 addnode=81.221.131.172 addnode=81.141.2.125 addnode=5.80.235.102 addnode=108.61.170.242 addnode=92.9.101.96 addnode=45.77.77.109 addnode=81.221.70.211 addnode=100.45.73.75 addnode=81.221.130.199 As pointed out above, additional nodes can be found here: https://seqexplorer.duality.solutions/network |

I clicked "no", and assumed I could go my merry way. But, when I tried to deposit Sequence coin in the wallet, the receiving address was blocked, and I was again greeted with a highlighted message, telling me that U.S. citizens have to verify their identity. This is very Orwellian. It's scary to think that the U.S. government is now so powerful that they can bully exchanges in other countries (where they have NO jurisdiction) to do their bidding. So much for a "decentralized" exchange. Kinda defeats the purpose. |

This project really has something to say, imho, it is complex and the first impact can displace but it is worth looking into it for the concrete and applicable solutions it proposes. I found the list of resources, documentation and guides posted in the previous messages very useful, especially the information related to the Dynamic masternodes.  We have been operating as a blockchain development team since 2014 and as a Texas LLC since 2017, aiming to be the next-generation blockchain technology company that delivers to business services a decentralized and distributed peer-to-peer architecture that automates business processes, adds security and lowers costs. Our software suite is poised to solve critical data and identity management issues as described below: NoID: Duality's flagship product, NoID, connects and validates biometric data to patient records in real-time, ensuring cost-effective and accurate means of identification. Research within healthcare organizations has proven that the typical Global Patient Identifier (GPI) is vulnerable, and if compromised could grant access to protected health information (PHI). In 2016 NoID won the Concept Blitz round, and in 2017 received a Finalist Innovator award at the CHIME National Patient ID Challenge. pShare: Duality offers a non-cloud based solution with unbeatable security, speed, and low costs, making pShare the superior option for individuals and organizations looking for a truly private, peer-to-peer file and folder sharing application. With pShare, it’s easy to privately and securely share data with friends, family and business associates. The pShare pre-release public testnet began on the 15th of June and is slated to be released by August of 2019. pConsult: pConsult will be developed to facilitate peer-to-peer professional services with private live video and audio, secure messaging, and document exchange between participants. To protect end user privacy, pConsult uses hashed (de-identified) demographics and biometric technology to enroll participants and authenticate user sessions. VGP, as defined below, is utilized to provide live encrypted communication channels. pSign: pSign will be a superior digital document signing and workflow management application. It will be bundled with templates, libraries, and support full automation. Costs associated with existing workflows would be decreased exponentially or removed entirely. Duality also deploys a unique infrastructure that allows for agile and flexible application development including: Blockchain Directory Access Protocol (BDAP): We created BDAP to offer secure programmable access control at minimal resourcing and costs. BDAP adds a layer of resource hierarchy comparable to Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) with a distributed database, account linking, and resource naming using internet standards. With BDAP, it is possible to create applications across the spectrum of industry, removing the need for servers, administrators and third parties. Duality’s upcoming Application Program Interface (API) and Software Development Kit (SDK) will give developers access to BDAP objects, Distributed Hash Table (DHT) storage, isolate applications, and increase performance by using sidechains to host decentralized applications. The blockchain, Dynamic, has a secondary network of incentivized nodes called Dynodes. Through dedicating their computing power to BDAP and the DHT, Dynodes receive rewards in DYN, the utility token of Dynamic. VGP: Very Good Privacy (VGP) is an end-to-end group cryptosystem library created by Duality, providing an encryption layer beyond current Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) encryption. VGP uses public key cryptography, symmetrical encryption, Diffie-Hellman key exchange and hashing for pubkey fingerprinting. Fluid Protocol: The Fluid Protocol is a mechanism for Duality to modify operational parameters of the network without the need for users to upgrade the software or cause interruption to the network. There will be no limitations in comparison to the full version. Apologies to anyone that recently joined Discord and couldn't read message histories of certain rooms, or had issues joining or posting in certain rooms.
We recently updated all the permissions and had a general cleanup of Discord. The permissions have now been fixed throughout and no-one should have any more issues.

Well done! I like the teamwork and the team commitment of this project. You are progressing very well and you are doing a great job, it is clearly visible to anyone. And this is one of the few masternodes projects with excellent future prospects, imho, and with one indeed I would say many projects in construction and in progress. Go on like this!

Was preparing a post about the false promises made about the role and importance Seq would have in the Duality ecosystem when I noticed the price of both had plummeted. From Bittrex International: The BTC-DYN market will be removed on July 19, 2019.
The BTC-SEQ market will be removed on July 19, 2019. Bad news indeed. It seems more and more these days that development alone isn't enough. |
