This has been exasperated by the current global inflation condition.  I remember reading something not too long ago and it says most Americans are only one or two paychecks away from financial ruin.  Throw in today's conditions and you have the perfect storm.

Is it possible that rising electricity costs could fuel a trend towards mass adoption of renewable energy for residential use? As people seek alternatives due to grid energy being priced outside their budget? Is there a silver lining and positive note to this doom and gloom?
Having a solar panel and turning to renewable energy is a good concept but the problem is that, you mentioned people are having difficulty in paying the electricity charges right now and how are they are able to afford the high charges of solar panel installation. If you are installing off grid then the battery is really expensive and you need to change the battery every 5 to 6 years and even for On grid the charges for installation and panels are on the higher side especially for people who are struggling to pay the monthly electricity charges.
