Hi guys (and girls),

On 1 March, we're going to launch a new platform called TradeWars, which enables investors and traders like yourself to compete in tournaments, sharpen your trading skills and win cash prizes.

Through the tournament-based structure you can see how you compare to other crypto traders and promote your skills by sharing your achievements. And since simulated trading takes place on our platform, you can participate in as many tournaments as you like, simultaneously!

Anyone can sign up for a tournament of their choice. Once the tournament begins, you can watch the leaderboard to track your standing. The winner of each tournament is the one with the highest return on investment (ROI) at the end of each tournament.

The technical part
We understand that the crypto community is driven by hubris and the gaming spirit. We also understand that folks in the crypto space are inherently skeptical, so building a product that performs flawlessly is critical to gain users trust.

Drawing on over a decade of professional experience, working with every part of the tech stack, we understand how to build an elite solution (test coverage of operating code, elastic compute resources, industry standard patterns for monitoring processes, cloud flare protection).

For wallet management, were working with BitGo (https://www.bitgo.com/info/), The world's largest Bitcoin processor.

Talk with our community on Discord: https://discord.gg/rfvxDwN

Or check out our website at: https://www.cryptotradewars.com/

Im trying to find the project that do have similar concept with this one where you do compete against other traders but i cant find it already. This idea isnt really bad at all

where you can test out your trading skills among other traders where you do compete but i would just like to say that 10% deduction on the said prize pool deduction is way too much Imho.

Could be fun, i know there are  other website which let you build a virtual portfolio, but i don't think there is all this "gaming" aspect connected to it.

Seems interesting if you can get the concept decently worked out.
It would be something I'd be interested in playing for sure, as long as there are enough active players.

Too bad that the video doesn't show any actual game-play though.

eosex.com had been doing trading competition when they were trying to promote thier ICO, it was fun joining the competition. participants given the same amount of capital and those who earns the most are the winners. games like this would encourage those who are new to the game but if the players are now going to be using their own funds for their capital, this is where the difference is.

I don't know if they have the same concept though, but it's a simulator game and I'm sure they can go PVP.

where you can test out your trading skills among other traders where you do compete but i would just like to say that 10% deduction on the said prize pool deduction is way too much Imho.

Exactly, it looks like the 10% deduction is exorbitant as well. Why not go for 2%-5% in the beginning and see how it works on your end?

Hi guys,

Thanx for the great feedback!

We're still considering the 10% fee, but it seems reasonable in today's market. And with current volatility, you could be in a 10-man game, beat 9 other guys in a 3-day game where btc ranges within 50 dollars and still make 9x you initial investment. That's better than you could do on bitmex.

Bitmex has all of the liquidity and none of the availability. And deribit has all of the availability and none of the liquidity. On our platform there is no slippage and no overloads. We're traders, so we built the platform we wanted to use.

Hello,

I´ve found you via IG yesterday, liked the idea, but Im still a little bit suspicious.
So I started searching for some more information about your platform and came across this thread here.

Can you explain the beta a bit more to me? Will there be free tournaments as well, or only paid ones?
I would like to maybe try the platform first, before putting some money there.

Thanks!

Btw how popular are such platforms? I mean those trading tournaments, are they popular? I have never heared. Also I think it will be great if that's possible: Link your trading activity (for example binanfe, bittrex and etc) on your platform, trade in real life and also get those results in trading competition.

Hope you can do as well as already existing competitors.

for example altcoinfantasy also is a platform with crypto trading contests. But the most beautiful in that platform it is entirely free to join, But still do offer real prizes by accumulating their AFC points. There also is another trading tournament platform but the name is slipping.

Seen a couple similar projects launch but failed so like many above stated it is very important to not charge to high fees. 10% is extremely high. If you compare with for example the largest online poker room , Pokerstars, deduct such kind of fee, but they already are well established.

I hope you guys really succeed, but you should really reconsider a couple things

fees

In my opinion you can charge a 10% fee but then at least 50 to 75% of the Total fees must flow back to the community by for example launching 'free roll' tournaments but with real prizes, a loyalty program, some kind of jackpot,....

add free games

add some free to enter tournaments where people can win entries in paid tournaments or you can add some of the charged fees back in free tournament prize pools.

Referral

add a referral program. this is one of the most powerful marketing tools. Mouth to mouth. And I think by charging 10% fees you can easily add a referral program.

Multiple winners

As far as I understood only the winner of competition wins the total prize pool. I personally think to make it more attractive you should reward multiple players in a competition. For example if you have 10 players in a 2mBTC contest. Fees deducted gives a prize pool of 0.018BTC. I would reward in this way 50% (0.009BTC) to winner, 30% (0.0054BTC) for second and 20% (0.0036BTC) for third place

It looks like this is becoming a new trend these days. You get a bunch of bored Crypto traders <because the price was very stable for a while> and you create some game or tournament to spice things up and this stimulates the market.  Tongue

So if trading does not provide enough profit, then you supplement it with fees from games like this. I am not saying that there are anything wrong with this, because it has a lot of advantages for all of us, but it is definitely a strategy to keep people interested in Crypto trading.  Roll Eyes

That is what we need to do to not thinking about the market every day. Perhaps, we need to leave the market for a while to release our stress to see the bear market still on there. We need to do something to refresh our mind, and with playing games, I think we can get new experience, and we can also relax for a while.

I am sure every people have a way to distract our mind so we can enjoy what we have or think about the solution for every problem we have, in trading or other else. Playing games will be a great idea to let our mind free for temporary, so when we come back to crypto trading, we can have a new strategy.

take a break from crypto and trading by playing a trading game. Doesn't look very relaxing if you want to take a break from trading. I would rather see some kind of multiplayer casino platform launching to chill a little

Wow, thank you all for your interest and ideas! I will go through step by step:

There will also be free tournaments, because we think this might be particularly interesting for newcomers.

Quote
So there will be tournaments where you have to pay some bucks and then are able to participate?
Btw how popular are such platforms? I mean those trading tournaments, are they popular? I have never heared. Also I think it will be great if that's possible: Link your trading activity (for example binanfe, bittrex and etc) on your platform, trade in real life and also get those results in trading competition.

I don't know how other platforms are doing, but some of them died because they were not properly built and had some technical issues. So far the feedback for our platform is very good - so yeah: it is popular, apparently  Wink

@QuadsPoker  great input, thanks a lot!

Quote
Fees
In my opinion you can charge a 10% fee but then at least 50 to 75% of the Total fees must flow back to the community by for example launching 'free roll' tournaments but with real prizes, a loyalty program, some kind of jackpot,....

We understand that you all think that a 10% fee might be high. But we should not forget that those fees are not pure profit. We have to further improve our platform, maintenance costs to cover, employees to pay etc. But to give back to the community, we implemented our referral system;

Quote
Referral
add a referral program. this is one of the most powerful marketing tools. Mouth to mouth. And I think by charging 10% fees you can easily add a referral program.

We have a referral system in place where the user can (at least) get 1% of every player that signs up trough their referral link and plays a tournament. This means that every tournament the registered user plays, the referrer get 1% of every buy-in. That's a 10% revenue share on every tournament played.

Quote
Multiple winners
As far as I understood only the winner of competition wins the total prize pool. I personally think to make it more attractive you should reward multiple players in a competition. For example if you have 10 players in a 2mBTC contest. Fees deducted gives a prize pool of 0.018BTC. I would reward in this way 50% (0.009BTC) to winner, 30% (0.0054BTC) for second and 20% (0.0036BTC) for third place

This is something we were thinking about as well. This is one of the reasons we are running a beta. We will simply ask the community what they would prefer.  Smiley

@maydna put it very well I think. We did not come with TradeWars because we, or other traders are bored. We wanted to offer a platform where established traders can somehow create transparency about their skill & achievements and where both established traders and newcomers can simply figure out/adapt new strategies without investing huge amounts of money. At the same time they can have fun and exchange with like-minded. That's the vision we've got in our head.

But yeah, even if we attract only people who are bored, we created some kind of value I guess  Grin

Speaking of gaming in crypto, I love this concept you have but it would be nice to create a blockchain for this. I'd love to introduce you to a project called Faireum. It is an open blockchain with a ton of traditions, which revolves around the betting business and gives a decentralized, insignificant exertion, clear, and secure betting and betting learning. Faireum uses its own special neighborhood money and shrewd amusement contract to guarantee a sublime and premium betting foundation and organizations in lotteries, sports betting, club recreations and other propelled diversions to customers

Gaming and gambling will be much better by building a blockchain that has a great deal of traditions with custom features to meet Web based Betting necessities. Faireum, a new blockchain project will show a stage that has a high level of trust, without borders, secure, fast speed for blockchain-controlled web betting. It also go as far as lessening operational costs of electronic and reduces scam and fraudulent activities. Take a quick look at this gaming platform

Excellent site and project, we should encourage something like this, but too risky for newbies to participate, there is huge money to be made in trading but it takes time and patient to be able to learn to trade and it's a full-time job or hobby but always pays off even if the project is not that good.
