ICO is the initial coin offering, while STO is the security token offering. Due to the ban of ico's on China, Hong Kong, partially on USA made it worse. Particularly more ico's got termed to be scams and ponzi. Few of which were the bitconnect, onecoin and more counts to the list. Regulators are warming to the STOs. This means that companies will have to admit that their tokens represent shares and are meant to pay dividends to shareholders, in the case that they are not a utility token–like most ICO companies.

In essence, STO sould  guarantees you that your investments will be safe, and therefore the chance that it will grow in price much higher.

of course STO will be desirable because it's more secure compared to ICO, STO are registered with the SEC while ICO doesn't and that will be one of selling point for investor.
because of many scam and ban that happen on ICO now many investor afraid to invest in ICO project and the alternative for investor would be STO.

All promising companies are switching to STO format, people need reliable investments and STO is just what you need.

STO is a current trend and I have no doubts that we will see so much new STOs as never before. But as soon as the market conditions will turn to be better, we would see a lot of ICOs as well, but I believe that people will have more trust in STOs because of their more secured structure.

The ICOs were one of the long-term investments that we know. There were more successful ones than successful ones. Also unfortunately was used for fraud too.

The STOs have been included in our lives. We don't know what they're gonna do. But I think they can be more reliable.

The decentralized one is far better.  I think this experiment will most likely fail. It not compatible with blockchain/cryptocurrency.

After many ICO scams last year, now projects are switching to STO in attempt to gain user trust back.
So now I'm buying shares mostly from STO's and I'm choosing the ICO's much more careful.

For now, I still prefer ICO, because that is what I am used to doing. Those who do not like doing kyc will not like to participate in STO, because it will be made compulsory. Sometimes, the kyc of STO is much more difficult, because it might involve a life video. Probably with times, we will begin to develop more interest in STO.

I think that currently STO is more promising than ICO. The crypto market is bad and many ICO projects have failed to reach the softcap, so investors are afraid to join the ICO project. But STO has clear companies and legal entities so investors are not afraid to invest in STO projects.

The answer is obvious - STO. If you are faced with a choice, then it is definitely better to give preference to STO. There, the statistics of positive outcomes are better than those of projects that conduct ICO.

STO is the best option if we need to move on with the secured option. However if you see in large numbers you can find the ICO projects in the marketplace. They looks to earn money but no one here to give security for your investment.

Considering the recent market situation, STO is far better than ICO! Most of the ICOs are decentralized, no one knows about the team, products 100% surely, therefore, an ICO project can scam you anytime. But STO means, security token offering, who are regulated under the government's low, they just can't get away with your money. Therefore, Investors money will be backed by the STO team to protect the price from dumping, but in ICO, there is no profit nowadays, after listing on exchanges, the price will be highly dumped and team advised people to not talking about the price or speculation in the main group, that's mean they don't care about the price falling down!
