It's a thankless, dirty job. I couldn't think of a better guy suited to it.

At least in 2020, the excuse was that Bernie lost because the DNC was rigging it against him from the inside. They were feeding the debate questions to Clinton before hand, they were literally giving Clinton money from the DNC fundraising effort (for down the ballot races), and so on and so forth. The deck truly was stacked against him. That wasn't fair in the least.

But now they're stealing the primary from Bernie. They're literally doing it in democratic fashion. Biden will most likely LEGITIMATETLY end up with more delegates and more popular votes then Bernie. People may argue that some of this came from backdoor deals and stuff, but while backdoor deals may be unethical -- nothing about them makes this process undemocratic.

I don't think Bernies job is to just be a token fighter. I think he truly wants to win. He just can't get the young people to vote, tough thing to do.

There's one very good reason Bernie Sanders just can't get the young people to vote.

It's Bernie Sanders.

And that's just the young people. What the recent shakeout in the Demo clown car shows, to anyone who has eyes to see it, is that Democratic voters, Democratic establishment players, and companies that donate largely prefer a middle of the line candidate, even if it be one as blemished as Biden.

The radical minority did not take over the Democratic Party.

I felt like Bernie Sanders was also the best shot among the Democratic Party at increasing voter turnout among the young people. But at the end of the day, it's not an easy thing. I think some analysts were saying that Bernie would need to increase voter turnout among young people (at the primary process) by 11 percent. For comparison, Obama increased African American/Black voter turnout by 5 percent and that was deemed a VERY LARGE WIN.

But yes, the radical minority did not take over the party. We'll see where that radical minority goes though, as they're not going to be very happy now.

We'll see where that radical minority goes though, as they're not going to be very happy now.

Aside from my usual snarky remarks about lazy kids yapping on the internet instead of voting, I'm starting to think they're actually better off being losers. Imagine electing Bernie and still having to pay off college debts (very likely given that the president can't just gift trillions of dollars) - THAT would be really non-happy.

Yeah this is right, the President of the United States REALLY wouldn't be able to do something like this. Even if you had all three chambers of government -- I highly doubt the more moderate members of the Dems would be willing to do all of the things Bernie wants to do. Kinda tough to do that when you know if you do you may lose your seat.

I have many friends who support Bernie and I'll tell them that most of the things he want to do won't happen even if he's president. They'll bitch and moan and say that he'll use the bully pulpit of the Presidency to force them to do things, cut state funding, etc. I was like -- you could literally say the same of every single president before them. It just doesn't happen.

2 things I think Bernie could've done differently to still be in a close race:

1 - Push back against all the communism/nazi talk.  Give a shit about what label people choose to use on him, and educate them on the difference between Communism and all the different flavors of Socialism.  He made it too easy for the knuckle draggers to cry Communist and imply that he had a secret plan to become some sort of dictator.

2 - Make sure every black person in SC is aware that he was fighting for them back when school integration was a radical progressive idea in the early 60s.  Use these pictures to tell a story about someone who has always fought for them.

I'm really not kidding about what I said. The absolutely least appealing to young people, physically, voice patterns, appearance, gestures... least appealing personal imaginable would be in my opinion, Sanders.

Democrats thrive by pushing the "pretty boy." Kennedy, Obama, etc etc.

I don't know. I wouldn't consider John Kerry, Walter Mondale nor Jimmy Carter "pretty boys" at all. They did all lose, although Jimmy won the 1st time against the Nixon pardoning klutz Gerald Ford.

Carter was president long before I had any interest in politics, but I remember my dad (who was pretty conservative) being somewhat supportive of him.  I think he appealed to wide range of people due to his humble peanut farming roots and all.  Then there was the Gerald Ford factor...  At least Carter had some hair, so he was definitely prettier.

What about that dude who invented the internets?  He sure was prettier than Dubbaya, at least by my uninitiated perspective.

I couldn't vote when Carter was running. However, I got my picture in the paper because I was at the Republican rally on voting day in 1980 and the caption under the picture read something to the effect of "the littlest Republican."  Cheesy
Also, I think Gore would probably be considered good looking to more people than not. However, he had the personality of a stiff board. IMHO.

Well, criticize it all you want, you know I'm right. The Demos need that nice image projected, there can be zero content or complete falseness behind it. It can be a man, a woman, doesn't matter. Got to have the glitzy flashy smiley face for the media to ra-ra encourage.

Anyone could have won against Ford, he was NOT elected. Carter was a good pick, an unknown, make him into whoever you need him to be. And don't forget Bill Clinton.

Sometimes, I swear it's as if a person is given a "last hurrah", a symbolic shot at the POTUS that everyone knows will be lost. A Tribute to their long history of public service (and no doubt corrupt in the right directions). Mondale, Dole, Kerry, Jeb Bush.

Delete Jeb Bush, Trump winning was a total surprise.

Summarizing... Biden's not intended to win. He's intended to reflect the Demo party people.

Use these pictures to tell a story about someone who has always fought for them.

snip

Not sure I agree too much with the first one, as I do think Bernie does try to make this difference clear. Problem with even calling yourself a socialist (anything close to that) is that the largest part of the voting group (I'm assuming this is those that are 40 and over) are those that associate Socialism with the soviet union and the horrible things that caused.

But yes, I do TRULY agree with #2. Bernie has to continue to retweet that picture over and over.I don't think he talks about it enough. He was and has kept to his ideals for his entire life. He fought for the things that people say they would fight for today, but did it 40 years ago. Isn't that something?

I'm really not kidding about what I said. The absolutely least appealing to young people, physically, voice patterns, appearance, gestures... least appealing personal imaginable would be in my opinion, Sanders.

Democrats thrive by pushing the "pretty boy." Kennedy, Obama, etc etc.

That would mean most Democrats are superficial and prejudiced wouldn't it?
I've just told them how to win (and how to not win === Sanders).

Given that 2020 is toast, and that I'm rooting for Ivanka 2024...

I'm rooting for Ivanka 2024...

Somehow I doubt that she would run.  First of all, she's said in the past that she was a registered Democrat, and if she wanted to run she probably wouldn't want to run as a Republican.  The Democrats would skewer her for family affiliation, so that may not go so well if she chose to run as a Democrat.  Second, she, along with her brothers have given up some income streams to avoid conflicts of interest while their dad is in office.  The family is actually losing money by being in politics.  Third, calling it a thankless job would be an understatement, it's down-right slanderous.  That's one thing for which the President gets no credit; i.e. losing money and taking shit from the media to serve his country.

Nikki Haley would be my prediction for the 2024 Republican party.

Biden officially endorses Trump. You heard it from the horses ass himself folks. Prepare your anuses Democrats, this election is going in deep and there will be no lube. You only have yourselves to thank for this historically agonizing ass fucking you are about to receive.

Given that 2020 is toast, and that I'm rooting for Ivanka 2024...

I'm expecting Yael (formerly Ivanka before she became Chabad-Lubavitch) to run in 2020, most likely by swapping out her daddy.  Biden was probably put up to make sure she wins.  I've been watching her be set up and gain widespread acceptance among hard-core Democrats since early in the Trump 2016 election when the whole family did an interview together.

BTW, what yeshiva did you attend?

The family is actually losing money by being in politics.

Maybe they should charge those cheapskate Secret Service agents for staying at Mar-a-Lago.

Oh wait...

Biden officially endorses Trump.

Come on, man.  That's disingenuous and you know it.  Biden unofficially has dementia, but he didn't endorse Trump.

The family is actually losing money by being in politics.

Maybe they should charge those cheapskate Secret Service agents for staying at Mar-a-Lago.

Oh wait...

With so much demonstrably fake news about the President, I don't know how much of that to believe.  Assuming it's all true, is it inappropriate?  How many trips did Clinton or Obama take to Martha's Vineyards?  How many trips did Bush take to his ranch in Texas?  What do a trips of that sort cost the taxpayers, and how does that compare to Trump taking a trip to Mar-A-Lago?

It seems like just another excuse to bash Trump over the head.  Nevertheless, Trump's losses are hardly being compensated by whatever they're charging the Secret Service for staying at Mar-A-Lago.
