## A new life for the opensource funding coin
Elphyrecoin was launched back in early october 2018. It was forked from Parsicoin with an "old" cryptonote code and Cryptonight v7 Pow. This cryptonote code should come to an end of life.
I have been warned many times that i may not be able to develop the coin anymore.
So i decided to team with a Dev to "make an inventory" of what is ok or not.
We realized we could not move forward with this code and the priority was to switch to another, modern and safer cryptonote code. We decided to start over the blockchain with a new difficulty algorithm and a new PoW alogrithm and to to go for a new PoW "cryptonight_turtle" (ultra light), forking and adapting Turtlecoin.
We have made tests for more than 2 weeks and today we're ready.

## What about "old chain"?
To be clear the actual (old cn-v7) chain will be stopped. The new chain will be started from zero, but with same name, same address prefix and ticker.
Stopping chain is not fair for miners and ELPH holders. So we have decided to compensate miners who own "old" ELPH. We will exchange old coins to new coins in a "swap process" with an exchange rate of 1/100, regarding old and new block reward.
We have also decided to go for a 7.5% premine that would help the "swap process".

What you suggested is Rich List.
Most of projects integrate Rich List in their explorers.
It is helpful to see how coins move from dominant addresses.
I think the Elphyrecoin team should integrate Rich List to explorer of the coin.

Elphyrecoin is a cryptonote cryptocurrency that aims to help all opensource developers with blockchain technology through a humble but concret way of being redeemed for their work.

Opensource world is an awesome place : everybody can participate and propose developpment enhancements, ideas, hacking, etc. Lots of well known softwares are coming from this opensource world (web servers, databases, websites, video and music softwares, picture softwares, social networks, etc.)
Opensource does not mean free (no money) but most of the opensource softwares (that are placed under an opensource license, like GPL for exemple) are free (of charge).
There are several ways to redeem opensource developers for their work (donation for exemple) but most of the time it's volonteer work with the only reward is the joy or the pride of having been able to contribute effectively to the development of a software or a project...
Sometimes it's even expensive for the developper that have to pay for the server or some others services.
It may be time to combine business with pleasure: if the blockchain could allow opensource developers, as part of a parallel economic system, to exchange or buy services, tools, products, wouldn't it be great? This new cryptocurrency wants to focus on this idea ...

Elphyrecoin thus presents itself as a new numerical (or electronic) value having all the characteristics of a "free currency" but based on the blockchain and "valuable" on the marketplaces (exchange).

Also, in order to build a network, I propose you freely (and free of charge) to benefit from an Elphyrecoin wallet with 100.00 ELPH as "cash fund".
You can use these funds to pay for services, products, etc. with everyone who wants it. These people will be known on the Discord Elphyrecoin, on a future forum of "Elphers", etc.
If you wish, Elphyrecoin could refer you freely and free of charge on the Bitcointalk project's page or on the Discord channel with your github link and / or your website, etc.

The main purpose of this project is to promote, help, encourage the development of opensource, in general.
No financial gain is guaranteed (selling ELPHs for Euros/Dollars on the marketplaces) and is only an option to use Elphyrecoin that each user will validate or not.
