Quote
Androklis Polymenis, a digital currency entrepreneur, has recently donated 1 million NXT coins to the Alcor Life Extension Foundation located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

After Alcor converted the 1 million NXT coin donation by Polymenis to bitcoins (and then to dollars) the end result was an approximately $46,000 donation to Alcor. The donation will be used to enhance marketing efforts, special projects and continued day to day operations at Alcor.

Looks like they failed the test.

A cryonics organisation that decided to hold *none* of the donation in cryptocurrency form?  That's not the future-tech company I want to freeze my brain with.

What a waste.

Could have donated that to http://www.sens.org/

SENS at some point were looking into accepting Bitcoin. This would have been a nice push.

I gently tried to get SENS interested a couple of years ago and was rebuffed.
For a group who specifically lamented the funding problems and attitudes regarding life extension research - I found their lack of vision in this area ironic.

Word from them last December was that they got a lot of requests about this and were looking into it.
