Animated avatars already disabled

TryNinja is right. It is possible to use only the avatar in APNG format. I don't have a chance to test it right now. Perhaps theymos was off already and the APNG format.

Has anyone tested if this works? I still see animated avatars for campaigns.

I was editing some pictures in PS a few days ago when I realized it have a feature for making gifs. I tried making a rather crude animated version of my avatar, only to find I can't upload it.

It shouldn't work. If it does, it's a bug and should be fixed.

OK, APNGs are now detected. Old ones are grandfathered for now, in part because people have ongoing campaigns, but in the future I might (or might not) go through and remove them.

Unfortunate. I went back to my PSD and exported each layer as a separate PNG and compiled those into an APNG and tried to see if it's still possible - it was not. Well, at least I tried.
