Bitcoin (BTC) versus Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is one of the most antagonistic conflicts that is currently happening in digital currencies. The teams behind each network have massively diverse visions for what the future of the Bitcoin blockchain should be. Although the skirmish originally arose over apprehensions concerning block size, the conflict expanded to include many issues such as censorship, business ethics, decentralization and many facets.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I would hardly call it a civil war. BCH is a minor coin. It has 30x less marketcap and 30x less volume than bitcoin. What's more, as bitcoin's daily volume has been steadily increasing for the past month, BCH's hasn't really moved from where it was a month ago. Looking long term, all BCH has done since it was forked is slowly lose value against bitcoin, peaking around 0.2 during the height of its pump-and-dump phase shortly after creation, and now sitting down around 0.03.

The only people framing it as a civil war are Ver and his shills (or CSW and his shills, depending on which failed fork you want to talk about). Bitcoin (real bitcoin) just continues to grow and develop, ignoring the petty whining and squabbling of these fools.

It gets even worse when you take into consideration that Bcash actually enjoys an incredible level of merchant adoption, but it has much less on-chain transaction volume than Litecoin or Dogecoin.

Both Litecoin and Dogecoin have orders of magnitudes less merchant adoption. Roger needs to understand that hes wasting his time and effort promoting something that's not going to take off, ever.

He was better off hardcore shilling Litecoin. It has much faster block times (also a benefit in terms of becoming a token platform), scales on-chain, does off-chain scaling as well, and has quite a friendly ecosystem.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

That's the sad part of this entire soap. I really think it must be emotionally draining for him to keep kicking this dead horse, but maybe for a con artist like him it isn't or he has fallen too deep into his own delusion.

He was better off hardcore shilling Litecoin. It has much faster block times (also a benefit in terms of becoming a token platform), scales on-chain, does off-chain scaling as well, and has quite a friendly ecosystem.

Litecoin would have probably worked a little better (however, doomed to fail eventually). But for Litecoin's integrity's sake I'd like to think he tried but the Litecoin devs firmly refused his bribes. At the end of the day, he needed absolute control over the development and I don't think he'd ever get that over at Litecoin.

Litecoin doesn't fit in his portfolio as early Bitcoin investor. He owns plenty of insanely powerful Bitcoin domains and social media pages, which Litecoin can't ever match. On top of that, the brand awareness that Bitcoin provides, and the controversy, is a very important marketing tool he loves to exploit, hence his continuous hostile attitude towards Bitcoin.

He can't stop attacking Bitcoin, because these attacks are the only way for him to remain relevant. If he stops attacking Bitcoin, who will bother looking at what BCHABCCASH is doing? The same applies to Crack the Scammer Wrong.

The picture should have been of a big guy (BTC) putting his hand on the top of a small guys head (Bitcoin Cash) during a fight and the small guy trying to hit the big guy, without making a dent.  Cheesy

BCash was a failed attempt to dethrone the King of Crypto currencies and BCash tried to do this with a lot of dirty tactics. <Choosing a token name that are very close to the true Bitcoin and also hijacking popular Bitcoin websites to create more confusion with investors.>

The Civil War was actually a school fight, where one treacherous scammer wanted to impersonate another person <BTC> and people saw right through that.  Tongue

At the end of the day, he needed absolute control over the development and I don't think he'd ever get that over at Litecoin.
It does however align with his 'increase the blocksize' ideology considering that Charlie Lee once pointed out that increasing the blocksize isn't much of a problem at all when it comes to decentralization.

But yeah, I'm sure that even if Litecoin would upgrade its blocksize, it wouldn't ever be enough to please Roger. He's like a child that wants everything to happen right now instead of tomorrow and gets emotional and mad over it.

That makes sense. Overall, his share in so many early Bitcoin startups and his hunger for blockspace make him so difficult to deal with, that we have to be glad that he forked off back in 2017.

I watched a few of his 2012/2013 speeches and it's a shame he turned into a complete lunatic and a scammer. Undecided

The civil war is diluting the market as the money going into shitcoin forks should really be going into bitcoin. This SV variant doesn't help either, but in any case bitcoin will always triumph

Phrases like "civil war" and "political fightning" are actually a part of bcash people subversion - they know they are wrong and they try to equate themselves with Bitcoin's community in everyone's eyes. The truth is, it was never about politics, Bitcoin devs don't want to control Bitcoin, it's was the forkers who wanted to control Bitcoin devs, and Bitcoin software through them. CoinIdol has long been spewing this sort of bcash shilling, and people who are new to Bitcoin need to be aware that they are consuming propaganda.
