What is ProxyNode?

ProxyNode was created to serve as a decentralised platform that provides a more secure platform for virtual private servers.

After the launch of the coin and the project roadmap, the developers concluded that the project end goal (a secure VPS hosting service on the blockchain) was not achievable. This setback then caused the disintegration of the original team and the evaporation of investor interest and market cap value.

On Feb 20th 2019 and after discussion with the founding team, the project was handed over to the community, spearheaded by SizzlePhizzle. As part of the transition, we formed a new team, inspected transferred resources (servers, wallets and repositories) and initiated discussions about the future of the project.

While we appreciated at the time that this news could deter potential investors, we pushed on and critically, committed to being transparent and honest. Here, we formally announce the successful re-establishment of the ProxyNode project and team.

The ProxyNode Team

SizzlePhizzle is the ProxyNode project lead. He and all other team members have no immediate gains from adopting this project, other than the target of a successful coin. There are no pre-mine funds as the project used all of them before the handover. We are rebuilding from the ground and funding the future through incentives and our own personal finances. A lack of funds, however, does not mean that we fall. It means that all the options for going forward need proper scrutiny. We, therefore, have settled on a (short term) road map. Critically, and as part of our overall strategy, we strive to keep the community up to date.
The Proxynode roadmap:

1: Build a team. A team is now in place, although we consider all applications. We regularly call upon the community for contributions.

2: Define areas for collaboration, research, improvement and implementation. We have made significant progress in this area.

3: Discuss with the community about the future direction.

4: Reinvigorate communications channels (Discord, Telegram and Twitter).

5: Get acquainted with and improve the backend setup to ensure a bright future for PRX.

We want to thank all of those early investors who hodled strong and did not waiver under challenging circumstances. They are the real supporters of PRX that are not to be forgotten.

Once we have decided our specific approach, we will be releasing one. I would like to point out that Whitepapers are very common and do not assure a coins success, however bitcoin (as an example) does not have a whitepaper. Often, coins need to remain flexible to customer desire and a whitepaper can cause limitations.

Dear all,

A couple of highlights for you:
- MASC added RepMe at the point of their coin launch. The brought in multiple external node holders who then bought PRX from the exchanges to fund their accounts. This is great for proxynode as it keeps taking pieces of the sellwalls away and spreads Proxynode awareness.
- The pump of BTC and the drop in PRX have balanced, so we are effectively hovering at the same fiat price.
- Work on the "PR-Xchange" continues in the first iteration (automated prx for ltc trades, effectively) but is not yet ready.
- Work on a Proxynode Proxy Server has begun to provide a simple internet access point for people wanting to browse the web from outside of their home country.
- The vote, for a while, was too close to call regarding the evonodes bot but the votes for Yes have won by a slim margin.

Work on the Proxynode Marketing side has begun. Video introduction has been created by @WarSoar  and we're very grateful for that!

We hope you had a PRXtraordinary week! Please find below the latest from your PRX team!

With the service only in PR-Xistence for a little over five weeks, MASC PRX hosting service hit the 1000 node milestone last week. The extremely fast growth our partnership has experienced bodes well for our future plans. Indeed, the nearly continuous stream of service improvements, and expansion has led to growth in demand and in all likelihood will continue to support PRX price.

Community member @amirali56 alerted us last week to a problem with the BlockExplorer. After investigation by the team, we discovered that the explorer was running behind. The problem is now resolved but we continue to monitor the explorer going forward. We thank @amirali56 for bringing the issue to our attention.

As you know, the community has voted overwhelmingly for a PRX listing on STEX. While we have received a substantial amount of PRX in donations, we do not want to sell (or ’dump’ to put it another way) on CB or CREX. For this reason we encourage (new) investors to purchase PRX from our PR-Xchange. Alternatively, and for those that wish to donate towards our listing, support us by donation of BTC to our dedicated wallet (18aN9Vur7ygNYW2gyzFrodj4YhSb6jRnJC).

As you may be aware, current PRX code will implement a MN Collateral change. The collateral change (from 12K to 24K) will take place on block 250,001, which will be around May 8th. Rewards for MNs will remain at 320 PRX.

To help new investors install their wallet and set up their MNs, the team (headed by @WarSoar supported by @cookie) has spent considerable time and resource on the production of video tutorials and desktop wallpaper design. The videos will be posted on YouTube as soon as possible and the wallpaper made available on our website.
Finally, we are happy to report that work on a brand new ProxyNode whitepaper has commenced. Watch this space for updates on whitepaper progress along with updates of our roadmap.

From our Devs:
We are preparing both ourselves and our customers for the collateral change that will take place around May 7th. We have revamped our dashboard interface, giving customers an intuitive interface, reporting on MN status, PRX balance and days until top-up is required. We also have worked to make the MASC environment more efficient and robust, as we are anticipating heavy demand when MNs need restart en mass.

After a call as part of the mid-week announcement, we have recruited volunteers to test our system on Marcoin and Adnode. Initial tests were successful, and MASC now has multiple live nodes for both coins. SINS and P2P await volunteers that can supply collaterals to step forward. We will start testing our service on these coins in due course.

We are in the late stages of code development for our bespoke VPN service. This service will allow you to establish secure VPN networks, paying for the service in PRX. Trials are promising but have highlighted areas that require further work.

The team continues to work on a MAC wallet and is making progress. Compilation of the wallet for the latest Mac OS does not work and requires investigation. We hope to release a new wallet in the weeks ahead.
From the #WhitePaper writers
Work on the white paper has commenced, but the principle content creator (@Huitemae) had to limit the time spent on this due to two significant (real life) deadlines. These deadlines have slowed progress. He expects to focus on the whitepaper when the clock strikes 17.00 on May 1st.

Announcement for the week of May 5th

Welcome to the weekly announcement for Proxynode!

SBurns is making a bot that will auto-answer frequently asked questions. In addition, the bot will allow you to deposit/trade prx within discord and gain coins. In the further down the line we will make this bot work even harder by hosting competitions. We will make further announcements when the release approaches.

We don’t just want the household to run smoothly, solid foundations is what we really strive for. To this end, @Sizzlephizzle#0376 and team have been focusing on two objectives this week.

Firstly, the creation of a new block explorer. The new block explorer will have a working masternodes page that we can use instead of visiting masternodes.online everytime (although both services will be available). Siz has really dug down into the code to try and get the financial features working. Generally speaking the new explorer will be more complete than the current one and we expect it to be 20 times faster (No, we're not joking).
Secondly, we have continued our work on the VPN service. Completion of this project represents a major milestone as it will expand PRX usecase with the provision of a new service. We are still hitting multiple problems with phase 1 but continue to work on this. The service will be available via MASC (as there are already user accounts there, this makes sense) but will also be offered as a service to login to proxynode.network. This adds yet more tasks to the list as we need to build a login system for proxynode.network, secure it, acquire SSL certificates, setup subdomains etc. The list of tasks is literally endless! Watch this space for further updates...

As you know, the collateral increase is fast approaching. To help all MN holders with the transition, we (ahem!, @cookie) created a masternode guide that is freely available to everyone. Please visit the #masternode-guide channel to get your copy.

PRX Price has held strong during the time of BTC pumps and dumps. There is no question that there are many investors with strong hands in this community allowing us to be in an AMAZING position. Don't sell cheap! the market is full of buyers, the charts look promising and the stars are aligning. You can follow our story @ #thestory-so-far.

We acknowledge that there have been some issues with our website. @sizzle likes to break things. On the plus side, our services will be more Sizzle-proof for it. We apologise for any distress our frequent rampages may cause.

Announcement for the week of May 12th

Welcome to the weekly announcement for Proxynode!

As you will all know, last week saw the increase in PRX collateral from 12k to 24k coins. As we expected, this led to drastic changes to the number of MNs online and therefore the network. Due to the hard work of many community members (helping out in Discord), the super fast deployment of MNs at MASC and the continued support from most MN holders, the transition was smooth. Network robustness and stability pays tribute to all that contribute in their own way. While price may have suffered initially, demand is picking up again and our work as a team and collective, will ensure a bright future. Given that no further collateral changes are forthcoming, we can fully focus on the use cases that underpin this project.

Despite the significant fluctuations in functional nodes, MASC systems have been working at 99%. While MASC was trying to loadbalance the nodes, some issues did crop up, which were attacked and resolved quickly. All Proxynode MN's are working and have performed remarkably well considering the turmoil.

We have completed our discord bot (pet) "TipCat". We have released TipCat from her cage to liven up the PRX discord house. TipCat allows you to tip people with PRX, for whatever reason you like. Whether it is help you receive the company others offer or advice you are given, TipCat will make donating easy. We hope to teach TipCat new tricks in the future, but for now we're happy to get her settled in. Big thanks goes to SBurns for his hard work and dedication toward TipCats plight.

We have completed a new block explorer and are preparing its deployment. The explorer is superfast and boasts functionalities allowing you to monitor masternode function. The release of this lightning quick and visually appealing kit is imminent.
