With the pending change to PROGPOW, a lot of questions come up to what is it, how does it work, what makes it different and why would a coin change to it.

In a past livestream I covered an explanation on what's going on with PROGPOW and how it leverages the entire GPU. This was the quickest I could explain in under 4min. A larger deep dive, if in order will be done in a proper tutorial style episode.

FULL Results being compiled and will be posted on bitsbetrippin.io

Thanks for the recap.
Personally I can't wait for ETH to switch to ProgPow. Here's to hoping it'll happen rather sooner than later. Regardless of whether the ASIC manufacturers are gonna be hit by it or not, it'll get ETH mining back into GPU owners' hands.

And the good thing in that is: if ETH's profitable to mine, well, there's a good chance everything else becomes profitable again too.

good video

One very crucial statement is missing tho: A GPU is an ASIC.

This statement would make it easier to understand why for ProgPOW of course a new ASIC would be possible to be created but it would be very similar to the existing Gpus.

So if bitmain would make a new chip for ProgPOW it would essentially be a GPU (yes once again a GPU is an ASIC), and therefore not any faster.
