Hi all, just looking for a bit of advice really.
We have an annual charity ball and auction coming up in May for a local autism charity and I always put a few auction lots in , eg, bottles of wine etc. The lots are not huge prizes, ranging from a weekend away to a bottle of wine. But this year I thought I would put a satori coin into the auction.  I’ll probably end up buying the coin back, but hopefully it will increase bitcoin awareness. Has anyone else done anything like this and was it a success? Thanks

We are also wary of people who say charity when in fact they are scammers.

Not saying you are but just keep that in mind.

Sorry, only posted this on collectibles as people here have physical items. I’m NOT looking for any donations or anything like that. Just advice that’s all. Gist of post is if anyone has done this sort of thing and how well it went down. I’ve thought about it most of am anyway and I’ll donate the chip , but will have to give the auctioneer a few paragraphs to read out and explain.
Thanks for input Krogothmanhattan and noted👍

i have not done that even though i wanted to on many occasions. It is due to the fact that people are so unaware about crypto and bitcoin and considered it as illegal (in my country). Also, there have been many cases of kidnapping and such. Don't want any unwanted attention on me...

But if i could, i would happily do it. It's such a fun idea to spread the awareness. And you never know, maybe you find a new collector Cheesy

Good luck, would like to hear how it went, given you go ahead with it...

Glad I’m not the only one and  totally understand your concerns.
Hadn’t thought of finding a fellow collector- like the way your thinking . The auction isn’t until May, but I’ll let you know how it goes. Thanks

May want to talk it over with the admins of the event to make sure they're on board.  One things I've learned, the shot callers do not want to be surprised.  Get their blessing early and you're probably fine.  But show up day of and start throwing around words they dont know like "bitcoin" and "satori", and they're likely to pick the easy answer - "NO".  Additionally, they'll probably know their audience well enough to know if they need an information sheet or something.  You could even offer to write it up.  Idk, just spitballing.

That will definitely be the case. Should be about 200 people there, and could well be the case that no one knows anything re : Bitcoin at the event  so I’ll have to write a bit for auctioneer and do a presentation pack too for the winner(probably be me - but hey ho rings a bit of awareness ) . Thanks
