I don't know how true is this rumour, I heard from someone that there are few NFT projects that you can mint using proof of work/ GPU to achieve? Is this true?

It sounds crazy that I turned that person away because it sounds like a red flag to me, what do you think 💭  .

I haven’t heard of this being a thing but I do find it interesting. I actually like this more than just paying a fee to mint something. It would be cool for all the participants of the project to help mine to create value and holdings for the project by mining on the project’s behalf. Reminds me a little bit of my NastyFans project, only we don’t give NFTs to those who donate hashpower. Maybe an interesting addition that could help see more participation from members in order to receive a reward…

Before we go any further, I hope you know what an NFT is, It's just a token deployed on another network like Ethereum, BSC, Solana etc. Now I think you can see a pattern, Almost all these smart contract base networks are now POS, I think Ethereum was the last man standing until recently.

How are you gonna mine an NFT deployed on a POS network using POW?

It's just an impossible fanatasy IMO.

If you prefer proof of work coins and NFTs on this blockchain, then the very first project is Ethereum Classic.
If you are talking about mining NFT tokens, then I do not understand the meaning of this. Miners ensure the security of the blockchain and get coins for it.

Last man standing, yet the last blocks that each had only one transaction were mined almost a month ago, or am I missing something?

It is just one of those not so good projects that claims to be Environmentally friendly, but then they go ahead to use the Bitcoin name in their branding because without Bitcoin appearing in any part of their name, they won't get any attention.

I always see such projects as deceptive and scam.
