Why cant i just pair my phone to a wireless/bluetooth dongle without having to be on the same wifi network or have a chromecast compatible tv.  Jesus... This s÷%! Does not need to be complex... Pair with dongle, mirror phone over wireless.

Can we build it an implement crypto somehow?

I am more trustable than you.  Those cbags who trolled me can get bent.

Why does it have to be crypto-related?  Huh

If your talking about wireless display being "too complex", yes it is complex, the transmitted image isn't analog unlike VGA; nor (wired) Digital that is being transferred through optimized connectors like DVI/HDMI/DP.
With wireless displays, your phone must continuously send data equals to a sixty (60) 720p-4k image every second (if 60fps) and higher for high framerate monitors and phones.

If bluetooth will be used, the data rate will be minimized to the maximum data rate of Bluetooth.
Unless you can tolerate displaying 480p images to your HD TV.

But then again, why crypto?
