Someone brought my attention today to a question I want to ask about the forum red trust color been changed from red to orange long ago but forgotten due to some real life issue. However, the change in the red trust color is causing some misconceptions among some newbies. An example is this user.

Any reason why is the forum red trust color was changed to orange?

Any reason why is the forum red trust color was changed to orange?
The change IIRC, was made during the introduction of the trust flags, then trust feedback display was changed to orange rather than red.
Also, there are three types of trust flags depending on the violation, there are some which displays a red warning banner with enough support (I can be corrected on this) and another which shows as a yellow warning banner.

However, the change in the red trust color is causing some misconceptions among some newbies. An example is this user.
Does the colour of the warning change how people view it? I'll be equally suspicious of another sign that alleges a user is a scammer regardless of the colour.
The linked user probably has a newbie warning flag visible to guests and new members, as I cannot see it when I check their topics. Could be the reason for the color it's displayed in.

There are 3 type or level of flags that can be activated in the "Scammers" user profile in my opinion and they are all different colors. Each grade of "type" has different reasons based on the evidence alleged.

Type 1 "high risk" the color of the flag is yellow, for example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=3137707
Type 2 "implied contract" the color of the flag is orange, for example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=3352306
Type 3 "written contract" the color of the flag is red, for example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=3364966

Based on the link you've provided, it doesn't look like that's the case [kontrakwel is talking about flags (he/she is correct), not trust ratings]!

Any reason why is the forum red trust color was changed to orange?
Apart from Upgrade00's post, AFAIK theymos has never explicitly mentioned why he changed the color in question.

they are all different colors.

There's no such a thing as an orange flag [it's either yellow (type 1) or red (type 2 and 3)]!

I agree with you if we review it through the user trust page in the profile. But if you look on the bpip site or rather on the flag log page then you will see that the color is different for each flag type that is active. Sorry, I don't really understand how the flag provision can be defined in a profile. But what is clear is that the accusation has evidence so that we can support the giving of the flag or be in the opposition if the accusation is not true.
