I want to use this opportunity to thank you for giving us this opportunity, I was a little busy so couldn't thank you before the request thread was locked. We'll continue making the board active and try to grow more as a community. You won't regret this decision and hopefully very soon you'll find us worthy of having our own local board too.

The fact that Nigerian youths are mostly into online businesses such as networking, Cryptocurrency, digital marketing and forex trading to mention few does not eqaute to doing Yahoo.

We live in a country where the government don't want you to be successful, they always want you to depend on them for food, shelter, and clothing, they feel they are the only one with such power to decide how you live, in that way they can easily manipulate you to vote for them, but when you are doing alright making legitimate money you are tagged a scammer because they do not want you to be on the saw level with them, you are either killed or sent to jail.

Am yet to believe that crypto is now being used for ransom in Nigeria by kidnappers and bandits but if true, then crypto is taking over gradually

We live in a country were the government blame anything and send negative information on something they don't like, the local fiat is the only method kidnappers and bandits uses, I've never heard of a case where they demand ransom to be paid in crypto, these people are illiterate and do not know how bitcoin or blockchain works. This is another cheap lie.

Yes wetin you talk about activities na true as of recent I notice am nobe lie, the thing just dey circle within just few people and e no make sense that way say na only like 4-5 users dey cap for here everyday and on this note my statistics will only come monthly now and not longer weekly activities and I want to add more data and more flexible charts as well too. Thanks for bringing that to notice, some are not also that active yet. I believe what happened recently will encourage some Nigerians to now be active while some will also now join us.

The user was wrong, we have veteran Nigerians that know what spam is, I am still among the spam reporters theymos posted recently, we have not in anyway spam anything with what we have posted. The user could be frustrated as Serbian board was not given when already stated that they are similar to Croatian because the languages are the same with only little differences, which means Serbians understand Croatians. What they should fight for is to make the language general and not restrict it to only Croatia as some Serbians are even posting on Croatian board.

But I have a suggestion, Nigeria and Nigerian are almost similar, why not just name it Nigeria? If you check others both are not similar while the ones that wants to look similar are just named the country. I think Nigeria alone will make it standard and mature, although Nigeria (Nigerian) is also still standard enough.

I am okay with either ways.

Many of Hhampuz campaign now accept local board, I expect this to encourage more good posters like Coyster and BIT-BENDER. We should introduce our local thread to any member we introduce. The two members I introduced were active on this thread, but just that the one I introduced that came from Adamawa (I met him during NYSC) was banned, but I believe natrixxx will increase his posting quality and become full member very soon. We should be a good example to these people we are introducing, I have discussed with a Nigerian before on a WhatsApp call, he introduced one of the highest growing Nigerian on this forum, but not posting on this thread which will be because he that introduced him is not also posting here, but he told me he introduced him to the local thread, which is not enough.

you don't seem to have understood my intentions here. I have absolutely nothing against your ambition and the opening of your board, whether that will happen is certainly not my decision.
it certainly has nothing to do with a similar initiative I launched for the Serbian board on this forum. we failed, I gave up that fight (the real reason why we failed was that many ^Serbian users did not want to come out of their anonymity, and there are a lot of them with a very good reputation)

in a short time, several topics appeared with a discussion related to the Nigerian local thread, to everyone else outside of it ^Nigerian, it's not such an important topic it, therefore, seems like an exaggeration (maybe this is more appropriate than saying it’s spam  )
you already have few users, accused/banned because of plagiarism, now I saw Dragonfund is Nigerian and his topic on Reputation... all this does not create a good image of you. (Yes I know, they are individuals and there is that everywhere). this can certainly can be important when someone decides on your request, that is why it is important that "veterans" do not make beginner mistakes.

When I say about activity, compare yours to others who are also without their board. you will see a lot of them much more active, also packed into just one topic.
Unfortunately, I have not seen anyone's similar appeal succeed. who knows, maybe you'll be the first.

You are always welcome here, they are not slangs they are pidgin English and if you read the 1-2 pages of ^{[the local board request thread]} you will understand why pidgin and English is mostly used here, and also we try as much as possible to let other non-Nigerians contribute to our discussions just like the India local board. Even before Nigeria was colonized by the Britain, Pidgin (the language you meant) was used in some regions in West Africa just to be able to communicate between the English people and blacks. We are even still better to make other people to understand little of it, because if we write all our words in Pidgin, it might not look like English at all, but if spoken, English people will be able to understand it which is a successful means of communication between the our forefathers and and whites (the English people) to make trades in the olden days.

It was commonly spoken by unlearned people in the region as at then, but as level of education increased and also after independence, many educated people are also now speaking Pidgin. It is a lingua franca in some West Africa countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Cameron and Equatorial Guinea.

Even, when BBC knows how common Pidgin is in Africa, BBC Africa is in Pigin now, which was introduced in 2016/2017. You can watch this video

Secondly Cryptocurrency on its own is self regulated, we don't need govt hand in it, govt is yet to track down the perpetrators of insurgencies, kidnapping and corrupt politicians, this were known individuals who can be traceable but yet nothing done, our youth sort for an alternative means for survival despite the government neglegence to ameliorate bad to good yet they want to track, and take control of the crypto transactions, their own economy system regulated has nothing to show forth than depreciation and yet want to regulate Cryptocurrency. (Wrong conception).

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, has asked the National Assembly to come up with legislation that would regulate cryptocurrency trading to stop operators from using it to perpetrate heinous crimes.

Am yet to believe that crypto is now being used for ransom in Nigeria by kidnappers and bandits but if true, then crypto is taking over gradually. In Nigerian market, one item of commodity can be seen with different prices from various sellers, yet claimed regulated by the govt...Who controls the buying and selling price in the market, who authenticate my source of income and other respective buyers, if I buy a fake or substandard product who Is in charge, there are many fake, substandard, foggery and scams out there, isn't there govt whom we pay duly tax, commissions and who is charged with he responsibility of the so called regulations and policy implementation failed?

If they scamedd you of fake bank alert or ATM related fraud, does the regulated body sit to ensure your fund is refunded back.... Shame, they had better leave our sustaining crypto for us as it's more safer even than their own so called regulated old traditional Fiat system.

Nigeria is not yet ready to regulate cryptocurrencies, it was just a request that the national assembly should regulate cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrencies also needs regulation, but experienced bitcoin users can still make use of it in a noncustodial way, having privacy. But the government will want to regulate the custodial exchanges and other centralized services. Nigeria still have not plan for the regulation that SEC is even planning for. Only that the CBN banned bank-to-crypto transactions for their e-naira.

It is wrong that bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies are used for criminal activities like ransom in Nigeria, even Boko Haram demanded for naira, bandits kidnapping kings are all demanding for naira, kidnappers are also demanding for naira, this is obvious all over the news. This is in accordance to what has been on the news, I have never read a news in which people that kidnapped (kidnappers) requested for bitcoin or other crypto assets before in Nigeria, but we all know Nigerian organizations and leaders, they will not conduct more research but take to media false information in order to achieve their aim. At least, if their is any evidences of cryptocurrencies been used for ransom, their should be some news or links to defend this.

You can not believe the rate of kidnapping in Nigeria, it has significantly increased, while all I have read about demanded for naira.

Thanks to Rikafip for this local board stat update. We hope more good posters will be active on Nigeria local thread, we hope more new members will also be introduced so they can be active on the thread. If all of us are active here, posting a page (20 posts) in just a day with the best quality posts, we will achieve the local board very fast, this has been what I have been implying since long time ago. One of our active poster, Pokapoka124 was banned, it is not what we are happy about, there are times in the past we forget not to include link to our post or some kind of mistake that will make someone forget to include link. Let us all try to avoid this kind of mistake.

True talk. Pidgin na wetin everybody suppose to the speak here. Speaking grammar no kukuma makes sense for here. Other people d speak d language wey d take know them and our own no supposed to d different at all.
