There is a distinct difference between Racism and tribalism. What you are describing is tribalism. Tribalism is part of our culture in Nigeria it has its positive and negative side. Nigerians as a people are divided by language and tribes. We have a rich cultural history we value till date. The Europeans do not have tribes that divide them when the white man looks at a Nigerian he doesn’t see his tribe, hear his language and say “Oh you’re Yoruba or Ibo” No all they see is your blackness. Take a Nigerian, an African American, a Ghanaian, a black South African ( because South Africans are supposedly dominated by whites) put them in room. They will immediately recognize themselves as different people from different walks of life and have culture differences. Add a white man to the room and he groups them as one people.
