With all due respect, if you mean Obasanjo former president of Nigeria he has never been a Muslim or practiced any other religion except Christianity, Obasanjo was a strong Christian and was raised by a missionary and even the record of him going to theology school is just a recent event after he left office as Nigeria Democratic president.

Good evening guy from our region, we would not cry about the government and their bad leadership, but right now we need to talk about how to empower ourselves, thanks to this forum it has exposed many of us to Crypto-currency and this has helped many of us in so many ways, but knowledge never stops, I believe we can make even more from this opportunity but we have to do it in the right way, so I call on some sort of knowledge sharing, I appeal to the most learned and even the least learned of us to drop ideas mainly crypto-currency based.

Ideal Location for Crypto Mining in Nigeria

Assuming the government has lifted the ban on cryptocurrency and has passed favourable policies toward crypto mining. Which state do you think will be ideal for bitcoin mining based on location considering;

- Energy prices - cheap energy sources
- sustainability - renewable energy - solar, wind and hydro
- Pre-existing infrastructure - well ventilated and affordable industrial space

My opinion is based on some of the states I have visited.

Plateau State
Plateau state ticks every box on the list of attributes desirable for crypto mining. It is one of the coldest states in Nigeria. It makes for favorably cost-effective conditions for the mining of cryptocurrencies. As regards to sustainable energy resources, prospective bitcoin mining companies can work directly with Nigerian Electricity Supply Company (NESCO) a company based in Plateau that has been operating a small-hydropower plant as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) since 1993 and from which the State Government buys electricity in bulk. Another option is to enter into an agreement with the Federal Ministry of Power and the Nigerian Rural Electrification Agency (REA) to install solar hybrid mini-grid power plant just as they did in Shendam Local Government Area in Plateau State. This will be a bring a good return on investment for the government. Lastly, the state has abundant human resources, and unused industrial spaces.

Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta State
With regards to cheap and renewable energy sources, one thing I am sure of is that the volume of gas flared at oil drilling sites in these states could be channeled into powering mobile generators that keep servers mining bitcoin running. As a matter of fact it is already being implemented in North Dakota, United States. I can't speak for industrial spaces. Maybe people here can talk about this.

I no fancy any of the state to start to dey mine Bitcoin if government go dey incharge. Anything wey come Nigeria dey spoil wey the government dey involved. If this set-up na individual something den I go support am and na Rivers state for be the ideal location. We get a lot of wasted eneeyyfor the state and this things dey causes air pollution. with the 2023 general election around the corner a lot of presidential aspirants are making promises and one of the best possible hands for the president the present Vice president Professor Yemi Osinbajo has hard a body language that suggest movement of crypto-friendly motive and in one of those close door party meeting he stated clearly that his administration will give room for digital development and blockchain is going to be at the center of that and cryptocurrency will be adopted as a secondary currency and if that happen Nigeria will be placed on the right part for economic viability and it citizens will have the freedom to make their financial lives better.

First this is first, i do not consider Osinbajo as a good candidate for the seat of the president, he was vice for 8 years, and he alongside the president oversaw one of the worst presidential tenures ever seen in the history of Nigeria, one can make an excuse for him saying he wasn't president but the vice, but that is no excuse, it is still the Buhari/Osinbajo government, and as vice he also has a fair share of power, so having failed then, what is going to change now if he becomes president.

Having said that, do you have any link or substantial info as regards the closed door meeting you talked about above, when did it take place and what were the minutes of the meeting, i would really love to know cause i personally never heard of it. Well even if he did say that about cryptocurrency, i am pretty sure you know he isn't talking about decentralized crypto like Bitcoin, but centralized CBDC (E-naira) that is controlled by the federal government and does not give any sort of freedom, control, privacy etc to its users.

Secondly, as for where to get started, Beginners and help section is the perfect place, your post would not get as much scrutiny there as it would get in other sections, afterall the section is designed to get beginners started, thus as your knowledge and confidence increases (which would not take too long), you can now delve into discussions in other sections without much trouble.
