I don't think the news about visas or anything else is new anymore because many have seen a lot of projects that have already been done and many have failed to develop their products, there are so many concepts now but in the end the community judges that they are not interested in the product
This cannot be the case of visa because these type of project products is what is virtually every home knows, those projects you are talking about are new projects built from scratch but looking at VISA, they are building on already existing popular project.

Just like Facebook planning to come up with their own coin, which we all virtually expect the project to really succeed considering the fact that they already have a very large community that are ready to support the project once it is being implemented, and this will be the case of Visa too, their trusting community will make the project a success and we better be ready to join them.

the guy above is trying to say that the news about visa is not new and i agree with it because before there are simillar news about visa saying that it will partner with bitcoin although i dont know if that news was legit or only a mere rumor  but  you are also right mate that visa is a reputable and well known brand for credit and debit cards  if ever that visa will teamed up with crypto im sure that this can help the adoption to increase more evenly  . same as with the idea of facebok creating a crypto coin  .

In the end all of them will get into crypto, it`s the question of time. I remember topics from years ago, when most of us discussed about huge companies that will get in crypto in one way or another. Nothing happened back than, but looks like they done their researching in past few years and now they finally came out with something. JP Morgan, Visa, Facebook, are just some of the big names we read about this days, I still wait Amazon to make some similar announcement. We were on a good direction, we still are, things are being developed as we speak, and sooner or later entire world will be in crypto.

I just hope they are not entering the "alt-coin" phase of understanding crypto. That is when some executive says "Eureka! We should create our own coin, better than bitcoin, meet VisaBucks!"

 Roll Eyes
but to compete with bitcoin I think it will be very difficult because bitcoin is the first coin made and developed to date. so for new coins it will take a few years to match Bitcoin

It looks like Visa is also interested in to joining crypto currencies

According to the job posting on SmartRecruiters, a San Francisco based recruiting firm, VISA Fintech is looking for a technical product manager to manage the product strategy and roadmap for cryptocurrency related opportunities

The job posting also clearly states that ViSA is planning to establish a “Visa Crypto Team,” with the to-be-hired product manager directing strategy within their evolving “cryptocurrency ecosystem”

http://bitcoingape.com/billion-dollar-payment-platform-visa-posts-job-opening-for-cryptocurrency/

Kind of madness with that giant companies
We had news about JPM. Facebook and IBM payments system https://www.theblockcrypto.com/tiny/ibm-signs-6-banking-clients-for-its-blockchain-based-payments-network-announces-stablecoin-partnership/
And today i read about Visa

One more news worth to mention is that E-commerce giant from Switzerland  will accept payments with some crypto currencies.First only in Switzerland than also in Germany

https://coingape.com/switzerland-ecommenrce-giant-accepting-bitcoin/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_source=Mailchimp+subscribers&utm_campaign=21c7bb1b4e-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_01_23_06_57_COPY_24&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_acc72fc580-21c7bb1b4e-75480287

From all that news i see that there is no more talks about illegal use of crypto currencies what is best news

I don't exactly sure, but I think before Visa said that crypto is not a threat to their company. And now I think they've swallowed it, which means that if you can't beat them join them!, now its already happening. But this is a good news actually and if this thing will happen, it can give a big impact to all crypto enthusiast. Besides, crypto so far has became now popular in the entire world so no wonder.

If this is actually on the process then it would be good I guess as this will promote the use of cryptocurrency. But too much competition will be there and bitcoin will probably be challenged by this new upcoming cryptocurrency. But should there be competition, I also believe that bitcoin will be doing better as usual. Too many are still supporting bitcoin even until now.

Competing with Bitcoin is indeed a waste of time, but that's not how they see it. For them Bitcoin is similar to a tech company that can be overtaken by something that does everything better and cheaper.

Reality however will show them that they are wrong. Currently we have so many coins that are faster and cheaper than Bitcoin in terms of confirmations, but yet no one seems to care about it.

Nano is a great example. It's superior to any of the currently existing coins in terms of speed and cost, but it can't gain momentum at all. If this was a tech company type of industry, Nano would take over, but not in crypto.  Smiley

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

it seems the visa is starting to fear that their system will lag behind. and now they also want to make crypto themselves. I think this is good for them and good for crypto lovers

This is a great news I would love to be reading and hearing from time to time, if visa and all these people you mentioned can come into the system, then what is left of SEC than to embrace the use of cryptocurrency and look for a way to support it and protect investors using it rather than killing the system with their opinions that doesn’t matter in its progress.

If Visa can really join crypto currency, virtually all ecommerce sites will start getting aware of the use of crypto and integrating it into their own platform too, I really see a big light at the end of the tunnel very soon for bitcoin. We just need to be patient enough to witness this.

In fact, this news is a very good development, but there is a fact that even though companies do not think these technologies are positive, those who are behind the technology will always be doomed to lose. I think that the company has taken such a decision with the aim of keeping up with the digitalizing age of today and having many advantages in terms of technology. Perhaps we will be witnessing that all companies have started to use these technologies in the long-term process, but I would like to repeat the reminder that the names of the companies that do not follow the technology will be written in history books.

Good news, VISA is no brainer a huge company.

So this is the result of what they've said before that crypto's aren't threat and the planned made was last year of moving to crypto assets.
They already made all opponents offside while themselves entering the crypto area. It is meaningless to have VISA cards if there is a better alternative for making payments in both real and online life.
Wait for them to give that twist on how they'll satisfy their users with a twist of crypto.
Creating their own cryptocurrency will be a big mistake, they shouldn't do that. And I don't think they intend to do anything like that. Just read what the op has said. What they did was a job posting in search of a technical product manager to manage the product strategy and road map for cryptocurrency related opportunities. The cryptocurrency related opportunities says it all, they are not looking forward to building a currency of their own. And doing such would be a bad idea.

I don't think they really mean that they want to go into cryptocurrency direct. I think they will just providing debit cards for companies that needs, just like MasterCard provides cards for Xapo. I believe that's the same thing they want to do and not just creating a cryptocureency of their own.

This is a big step for altcoins. Perhaps mastercard and other big players will join this technology.

Well as the cliche goes, "if you can't beat them, join them". They know it can make them obsolete.

These banks, remittance services and payment operators were publicly dissing crypto while they quietly try to develop their own blockchains/crypto. That way when when it gets hyped, they can just unveil it and keep their customers that haven't switched out yet (which by the looks of it is still quite many).

Such properties will certainly be eaten in the era. Of course to follow the era's adventures must appear ahead when analyzing an opportunity. I think the world is not static, and must be flexible with technological developments

They already evaluate it, crypto has a huge potential and if they will join, it would certainly make them more profitable.
Visa is a big company, and when big companies adopt with crypto, this means adoption.
We will watching a possible news confirmation in the future, this is a bull run material I guess.

No matter how many times all the media did not trumpet that bitcoin is a bubble and cryptocurrency will not bring us anything good, still with each waiting for more and more large companies and funds to move towards the study of the blockchain and attract experts in this field.

Yes, because they know the great potential of Bitcoin, for now Bitcoin is traded at $ 3800, this price is the lowest price at the moment, because many predict that Bitcoin is approaching Halving will experience a rise again, and that happens next year 2020. So there will be a panic buy, hopefully
