In Europe alone, cryptocurrencies are estimated to be facilitating by around 4 percent of all money laundering undertakings. In June last year, the European Union (EU) completed the 5th Anti-Money Laundering Directive (AML5) in an attempt to address the malevolent activities.

The European Commission approved its new list of 23 countries with premeditated paucities in their anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) contexts.

Article is very misleading. This news is really more about AML procedures that will be done in Europe for now on and since only 4% are coming from cryptocurrencies it only means that 96% of money laundering are coming from other methods which I think they would be focusing into. So there would really be no war against crypto that will happen as 4% out of the whole 100 is really a small number to pay attention too. These news websites are really hungry for views they are so desperate for it they create clickbait titles just to boost their viewers.

This is why i dont really bother to click up the links of Coinidol. Im not really very much interested and also i do lost trust yet news written is either outdated and most of the time
it is misleading and the community knows about this thing. It sucks that these kind of sites doesnt even bother to give out direct to the point headlines but rather creating some
clickbaits just to gain views. On topic, 4% isnt really recognizable to start a war against crypto.

If you want to see cartoon, use Coinidol.
They are becoming popular now at least but not with their articles but about the cartoons that they display with every article that they create.

Article is very misleading.
Thank you for saving our time, most of the posts here are made by coinidol and it seems that they still don't get the taste of the viewers. If someone from coinidol reads the comments of the readers here, I hope that you'll consider those reviews and apply it to your future contents.

It's not even concerning cryptos firstly. The commission released the AML 5 to continue to establish its plan to fight the money laundering but that's all. It's not the commission that starts something against (or for) cryptos, it's the countries.

AMLD5 is only the latest in a series of directives, updated every time EU needs to adjust to changing situations. As flattering as it would be for us Bitcoiners to think that the fifth edition came about because of the rise of Bitcoin and crypto, that really isn't the case at all. The new inclusions are simply to facilitate the monitoring of crypto-related businesses, helping them to also comply, while also recognising (or somehow legalising) token offerings as a form of crowdfunding.

A war against illegal activities, if there is one, has been ongoing for a very long time. It's got little to do with anyone turning their eye specifically to crypto-related crime.

I also didn't get what kind of meaning and influence this new has with crypto and any concrete changing.

4% is a very small amount. This is a claim for crypto to be used in the place of fiat as regular money is used in 96% of money laundering cases. A lot of which takes place in the banks so we need to switch to bitcoin instead

Europe Starts War Against Illegal Activities Using Crypto ---> What a joke. Only 4% of all money laundering are done with Crypto currencies and they want to start a war against illegal activities that are done with Crypto currencies? Huh Huh Huh  Where are the War on illegal activities that are done with the remaining 96% of payment methods?

I hate it when something bad happens and they want to blame everything on Crypto currencies. <Example : https://www.ccn.com/christchurch-terrorist-invested-and-profited-from-crypto-scam-bitconnect >   Bitconnect was a Ponzi scheme!!!

The usage of cryptocurrency into illegal activities weren't that high in comparison to the illegal activities happening with traditional fiat. As like Europe, around the world there is more such crypto related war that happening with the support of governments. Most commonly the intention behind is to point bitcoin as the cause for illegal activities and stop its growth.

It has nothing to do majorly with crypto. So this isnt much connected at all.

If you want to read some good article, try Cointelegraph. If you want to see cartoon, use Coinidol.
I'd rather stick with Cointelegraph even it doesnt have that kind of shitty cartoon.
