Maganda sigurong idea yung "Barya-less" Hahaha. Or something like that towards commute. Yun kasi mahirap for me, pag walang coins tapos sayo pa magagalit yung konduktor or driver na wala ka bang barya. Great idea IMO.

Well, that is true maganda nga to kasi as far as I know Coins.ph to Coins.ph wallet does not have additional. I think they should be used a company like that or let say GCash na rin pwedi naman yung walang fee. Using QR code I guess it is easy to implement even though in a jeepney fare payment system.

It is easy for him to put it in his jeepneys since he's the founder of his own manufacturing company. The funny thing about this guys company is that they have their own coin and it actually ICOed back in August 2018.

EFI coin an ERC-20 token. I think this will be the coin that is going to be used on his jeepneys. So commuters get your own EFI coin now. Lol.

Nakikita ko lang na problema sa mga ganito yung cash in at transaction fee, napakaganda sanang  gumamit ng cashless payments like crypto kaso yung fee isang malaking hadlang diba may mga coins naman jan na zero transaction fee wag lang eth kasi pabago bago ang fee jan mamaya biglang magfailed ang payment mo at nakaalis kana kaya di pa talaga pwedeng gamitin ito sa mabilisang transaction kagaya ng sa mga jeepney.

This is a good exposure for crypto in the Philippines, but I don't see he has a chance to win in the Election, I don't even have an idea who this guy is until I read this post. Anyway, crypto is still new but the Philippines is a crypto friendly country so I'm expecting a positive progress in the Philippines overtime.

I agree with this, kailangan nilang gumawa ng isang app na katulad ng coins.ph pero mababa yung fee at mas makakatipid kumpara sa pagbabayad ng barya. Kailangan nating mahikayat ang mga tao na mas convenient itong payment system na ito.

Maybe no need to create a new one and just use coins.ph instead? Maybe pag nagawa ng coins.ph yung parang QR code and offline transactions capability, I think they could really implement this and be widespread, not just in Metro Manila.

Although walang fee kapagnagbayad sa mga jeepney, how about xempre pagpasok ng pera sa 7/11 which may cost them more. Sa mga elderly persons or senior citizens dont grasp this kind of system kasi most of them dont know how to use gadgets.

Interesting but I think that transaction fees would be high and the transaction speed would also be taken into consideration. The idea is definitely feasible but there are other problems that should be addressed before implementing this kind of change.
The silver lining would be the exposure of cryptocurrencies in the public. This would attract their attention and potentially transform them to investors soon enough.

Like what others mentioned, the usage of BEEP CARDS are already enough and adding another complication can only bring harm than good.

Correct, I think this implementation will take long process and I am sure majority of the jeepney drivers don't have any idea on this blockchain technology. Maybe it will happen if Elmer Francisco will conduct a seminar to those jeepneys driver regarding this matter.
Though the EFI founder has a good objective to his project, I think it is very helpful to us as a commuter para sa madaliang fare transactions.

Sa ginagawa nila katulad neto, mas magigipit ang mga traditional jeepney drivers natin. Bukod sa di nila kayang makapagadjust sa gantong system, kukulangin pa din sila sa pera pambili ng electric jeepneys.

Bakit kasi nag Ethereum based ERC20 token pa sila pwede naman silang gumawa at mag fork ng bitcoin at gimawa ng sariling coin at gawin nila yung segwit format para yung fee ay mababa at mag provide na lang ang pilipinas ng sarileng full node para ma confirm ang transaction pwede naman gawin yun eh kaysa sa ERC20 token na mag babayad pa ng gas fee.

Or Pwede rin yung XRP as alternative payment since yung pero hindi naman nalalayo sa piso.
