I was updating the Merit Dashboard, when I came across the first forum member that has reached Hero Member rank starting-off from being a Newbie.

Note: Others have reached Hero Member (41 in total) from other ranks that allowed them to have an initial Merit airdrop. The above focused on those that started with cero handicap.

Edit 1: I'm amazed that the vast majority of the above have been merited on Local boards and English boards. I'll see if I can complement that fact tomorrow.

Edit 2: Note -> I created a rather more complete topic recently called Stats on the Rank pipeline - How many are we on the way to ranking-up (II) ?, which included all the ranked-up members (from/to) that needed merit in the process, as well as the pipeline-status (the referenced thead has a link to a google sheet with all the names and so on).

This post was really a quick post to emphasize on the first Newbie to have made it so far under the Merit System, and while at it name the next upcoming Heroes.

Wow, mole0815 definitely has a merit fan in qwk.  I tried looking at some of his posts just to get an idea of whether they're good, but I guess they're mostly in German which I can't read--but the posts at least look like they took some time to put together.  Nice to see someone legitimately earning enough merits to rank up, and especially in the local boards.  It shows newbies that there's hope.

A lot of the other members on the 2nd list I don't recognize, so they must post in sections I don't normally visit.  But the fact that they got enough merits to rank up is some evidence that the addition of all the new merit sources back in September is working out well.

Newbies find their way to rank up when the old members are still blaming the merit system who came very near to their next rank up at the time of merit system was implemented.

Nice, i was thinking about that time when the newbies, registered in that week when merit came in place, will eventually gain enough activity to reach Heros and how many actually will do it? Well,  you answerd my question before it was even asked.

You may extend it to also how many ranked up from being a member to Hero. Because the difference is just 10 merit compared to 500 its almost the same to start from 0.... well, almost..

If somebody wants realy to rank up and have the Focus to the community to help and help other Users with some knowledge or fails he have done self its possible to rank up !
The only thing you have to know that this will be take time and how you helping !
If the Merit system was implented i thought i never reach the Goal for Rank up !

And realy nice to see that some Users still keep posting some Good Stuff and helping the forum too !

Now this is something I love seeing on the forum, it's kinda hinting that the new merit system seems to be working as intended.
Since I've found your post fun to read (I love seeing these kinds of statistics), I'll give you a few merits to reach your next rank

There's one other thing though, this also kinda reminds me that I should perhaps put some more effort into my own posts.
I've been slacking a bit these past couple of weeks and have not put that much useful information onto the forum as I've wanted.

Strangely enough, I only make one person that was a Member during Merit System kick-off that is nearly a Hero Member:

Strange, I was a member, a week or two close to Full Member.

If you are registered on 5.Oct.2017 then on 25 of Jan. 2018 you suppose to rank up to Full Member, based on my calculations.
So tracking those people registered after 5-ft of October, should bring you the list with the members ranked to heroes if any (there is at least one )

hey people,

i was made aware of this thread in the german area. as you have already noticed in my history, i am almost only on the road there. in between sometimes in the meta but actually only in the area of my mother tongue. so please forgive me spelling or grammar mistakes.

I am happy to have been mentioned here by name
and even more i am happy to be the first "from zero to hero" user in the history of bitcointalk... so since the merit introduction

we have threads in the german area where we actively work against spam, scam and bots. there qwk is thankfully awarding merit on a regular basis.

as bpip shows I have received merits from over 60 people... so we are diligent in the german area. i'm also regularly in our top 3 of receivers and senders. since i have seen myself how it is to hang on merits i also pay attention to assigning merits regularly and thus supporting new users.

it was a hard way but basically i am glad that there were merits after the fact. in my opinion, the quality of the merits has really improved. spam keeps within limits because it is hopeless. so at least with us in the german area where a lot of eyes pay very much attention to what is posted.

which also suits well here. the time which i spends here online is not to be despised. in 19 minutes I have the 30 days fully

Congratulations on Making it to Hero!

I’ve got a certain soft spot for Local Boards, since I consider them an essential slot in the chain for crypto extension and comprehension. Ranking-up whilst actively participating in local boards is not easy, and ever more so if the merits are earned solely on the local board.

I’m looking over these days how many people participate both on a local board and on the general forums, and using merits as a quick link to determine board specific participation, there is a larger than I expected mass of people that do so on both Local boards and English boards (I’ll detail this at some point).

Regarding the German Local board, you are certainly amongst the top merited and meriters as you say:
