How did the BCN team managed to to put fake names on it's team page that you can't even google ? Is this a joke or a game ?

Having said that. people here is kinda paranoid (me included) and I am sure everybody would be happy if some questions are answered :
- Can you give us some prove of the legitimacy of the blockchain ? There is some open discussion about it but the fact is that we lack facts supporting both positions.
- The mining teams, community, etc ... You mention them several times on your website but again there is no proof of this, can you provide some proof or at least credible sources ?
- Fake names ... really ? I don't think there is a reason to put fake names, just say you want to stay anonymous, people will respect this.
- Development Roadmap, there has been clearly work going on behind the scenes, what more can we expect ?

Hope to hear at least something NEW from the devs.

Am I right that BCN is an academic project? I've recently read a post by DStrange on reddit and a lit bit confused if it is still a project and or something more than a project

As for your question, I think that it was developed as a project but then developers realized that the project has a huge potential. As far as I remember, CN developers team has announced that there was a CN-based coin before BCN but it wasn't launched, and then they've created BCN and launched it in 2012.

I'm not sure if anybody noticed, but new binaries changed the way Bytecoin's blockchain is saved. It seems like "save" command is not doing anything, just like "exit" command doesn't print out anything regarding the stored blockchain.

On the other hand, it seems that this is the way the new block chain data base is working. It gets saved regardless of "save" and "exit" commands. I tried killing the daemon, and it seems that the block chain is stored anyway. I guess the commands are legacy and should be deleted. Also, I've checked the manuals on BCN website and community website, they do not mention those anymore.

Bottom line: Bytecoin developers rock! The block chain is stored and loaded now in a matter of seconds (not even mentioning it doesn't take 4GB RAM anymore). Good work!

Even though this one is "for windows", the block chain is completely cross platform thanks to the latest Bytecoin updates; it even leads to the same file from different platform downloads.

Then you should place the files into your hidden bytecoin folders:
Windows: %AppData%/Roaming/bytecoin
Linux/Mac: ~/.bytecoin

This should save you a lot of time.

Using fake names doesn't necessarily mean bytecoin is a scam, maybe the dev is Satoshi Nakamoto or JFK or Amelia Earhart and has to remain anonymous for secret reasons that people like us would not understand.

I am not saying that, I am just saying that if they are trying to be more open to the community they are doing it wrong IMHO. I already stated that remaining anonymous is perfectly fine. and everybody should be able to preserve his own privacy.
