hi guys im new in Bytecoin and i have a problem with the core...

When i run bytecoind.exe from cmd i get the next error message:

Failed to parse argument: Unrecognised option 'rpcuser'

How to solve it?

I am a big fan of ByteCoin - however Monero is not a scam coin. Let's rise above the level of some fanbois who troll and post FUD on this, and other, threads! I am all for informed debate and info on the various cryptonight coins!

Oh, folkes.
That's so weird to tell about BCN "pre mine" and BMR no-premine as its advantage. You know, people who will find out BMR much more later will say that you premined BMR. Just because they will be late for low diffs.
And they will think it's unfair distribution, because you have coins and they don't. As you do it now.

People will start to do their own "fair" forkes. As a result we will have hundreds useless coins as Bitcoin's ones. It's so stupid and irritating.

Btw I offer not to call BCN situation as "premine", because it's significantly other situation.

It's sad that this thread is littered with nothing but greed and laziness. This is really profound technology empowering people and giving them back their privacy and every other post is about mining or repeating questions already answered but people are too lazy to spend a minute to find the answer so they just repeat the question. Then the greed trying to push people to other forks and calling it a premine all for their own personal gain nothing more.

I love that speech from the movie Wall Street "greed is good" by Gekko and believe people acting in their own self interest benefits society as a whole. The implications of the possibilities and cryptonote's tech is the value, at least take a minute to appreciate it before trying to make a quick satoshi ignoring the big picture.
I'm in awe of this coin and cryptonote and how it was devoloped on the deep web by anonymous people that didn't do it for personal gain but to empower people and change the world. It's eerily similiar to Satoshi and Bitcoin. I know it's bitcointalk where trolls and idiots everywhere but this isn't your average copy and paste clone coin it's completely new and unlike shit like darkcoin it's already functioning.  It's frustrating trying to get to the interesting posts of this thread scrolling past so much noise..there's another thread about mining and the other forks have their own threads so STFU
Their might be valid reasons to create forks like mining subsidies to protect the network or quantity of coins ect but not because you didn't get in to mine early enough..world doesn't revolve around you and this coin and Cryptonote weren't developed so you could make fast money mining on low difficulty at launch.
end rant back to scrolling through pages of useless posts to find the few quality ones.

Not that many computers. Could be done in a relatively short time with a server farm or botnet.

Even now this coin is pretty small and the difficulty is much higher

I think it is more likely that the developer or a small team bumbled along for two years and then later decide to try to cash out the premine with a pump-and-dump instead of starting a new coin. That may be behind the split between bytecoin and cryptonote. All of this is speculation, but I'm trying to fit the facts as well as possible.

There are major flaws in that logic. If it was for profit then they would go the monero route with a smaller supply making it an "investment" currency rather than a means of exchange currency. If you read anything about them instead of trying to cash in on monero it's not one developer or small team and the hashrate is in the blockchain along with transactions showing it's being used and there is much too high of a hashrate for a "small team" to be just bumbling along.

It would make sense that the people interested in developing an anon crypto wouldn't be looking to make an very limited supply speculative investment style crypto people would want to horde rather than use. It also makes sense that someone looking to cash in would go for a more limited supply to help push the value. Doesn't make sense to develop BCN to cash in on early mining. Also hard to believe the motivation behind developing an anon currency is to cash in on easy early mining..the motivation to create cryptos isn't to make miners and early adopters rich. The logic behind them wanting to pump this to dump their mined coins and a small team owning all 80% doesn't hold up.
Why it was developed and launched in such secrecy I can't answer. I suspect this very well could be a proof of concept coin and not a polished coin meant to be released to the Joe public. If they were looking to pump and dump the test coin, why not do it with a flashy website and polished wallet followed by an ANN thread here. For intelligent people it wouldn't be hard to produce a better scheme to cash in if that was their objective with Byte.

I have no problem with Monero and think it's price appreciation and being launched on bitcointalk will help adoption and use of crytponote and privacy in general for cryptos. It is and was one of Bitcoin's keys to success. It's obvious you're into cryptos to make money not much else which is fine, but why do you need to try and plant doubt about the motivations behind Byte coin to pump you investment in monero? If you don't have confidence in Monero to stand on it's own merit then why invest in it at all?

I wasn't specifically talking about bitcointalk. I have seen plenty of third party reporting about the deep web stuff and never was it mentioned that they are using this new thing called Bytecoin, or even some unknown anonymous payment technology. Bitcoin is frequently mentioned. Stolen credit cards, botnets, and other items of value are sometimes mentioned.  Nothing like bytecoin has ever been mentioned. You can go and look at this reporting yourself if you want, that doesn't require visiting kiddie porn sites.

It could have been known in some (very) small circles, but it is certainly not being "widely used" on the deep web. And as I said before, the difficulty was (and still is, but definitely before) much too low to be consistent with any kind of widespread use. This theory does not hold water.

As I said before, I think the most likely explanation is that the developers bumbled around with it for a long time but never really went anywhere with it in terms of usage, causing 80% of it to be mined even with essentially zero user base. Maybe they simply dropped the ball on getting out there, or maybe they did not understand for a long time that a secret coin can not ever have value. When they realized what had happened, instead of throwing away their worthless devcoins and doing a rerelease so the coin could actually get some users before being 80% mined, they decided to try to pump and dump them here.

Other explanations are possible. I find that to be the most likely.

You find the most likely scenario is the devs were too stupid to get the word out about Bytecoin and accidently mined 80% of it and when they suddenly realized it they then decided to scam but didn't really do a good job on that either. Because posting on bitcointalk to get the word out and a flashy website and nice gui wallet was too hard for them to figure out..
I don't know it was used on the deep web but you're wrong about assuming you know what goes on. Not all of the deep web is known, there is no index or entity that knows everything that is on the deepnet so nobody could report it to you. I know the popular deep web marketplaces all don't use it or heard of it not disputing that but it's arrogant to say any one person knows everything that goes on around the world in secret.

1. I have one and only one login on this forum site, unless you count the monero shared login, to which I have access (but rarely use, and then, so far at least, only to help maintain the information posts). EDIT: Nor have I ever in the past had any other logins.

2. I agree that pump-and-dump has gotten much harder, as the community has learned to avoid premines and such. This is a good thing.

As far as the bytecoin devs, it this is in fact what happened, my guess is that they got the idea to put a little public gloss on their project and try to cash out of their coins with a PnD some time ago, when coin prices were higher and the healthy skepticism toward premines and other PnD schemes had not matured to where it is now.

Take a look at the timeline. Web site first appeared according to wayback in late February and the first post here was in early March. Allow a month or two to get ready to go public and that places us right back in the near the peak btc+alt bubble in late 2013 or very early 2014.

I was mainly interested in cryptonote as I was considering invseting in Monero. Your association with Monero is the reason I won't be purchasing any.
